Welcome to the channel. Here at Goldies_Garage, we are about living our best life. We like building vehicles and taking them out. We do of almost all the work ourselves. We are also in to all things outdoors and adventure. My name is Eli, thanks for stopping by.
I'm in Canada and that was my thought on the angle facing up would trap water and rust out right away. The small drain holes would be plugged solid with gravel and mud all the time. Still a nice job tho
I sent mine to Speartech. I bought a new ECU from them so I figured have them marry them together. If you have the HP Tuners and a tune, you can do it yourself.
You really need to secure your gas cylinders. If one should happen to get knocked over and break at the valve, you'll have a missile that can go through a block wall.
This was very helpful. I have c6500 that I wannt to " dovetail" :) I understand sdditional weight of this but curious why you didn't add folding drop down ramps hinged to the trailer?
Sorry you broke down out there. really stinks. Really cool of those guys to tow you out! I would throw some marvel mystery oil in there, I think it'll help that tick/knock to go away a little quicker.
Waterproof it call it a day.Retired Scoutmaster. All seams use Original Thompson water seal with a 1 in brush twice.Boys dome tents never leaked and they were cheap ones.If you see large holes in seams .Seam grip time.
Nice vid but those angles are pretty sharp. Is the exhaust a tight fit? Made this mistake and have to redo my exhaust when I went over axle at 90* bend with sharp radius. Have a little too much back pressure with my motor
@@desmondpayne9880 The electric switch wasn't connected right with the shifter. So when you would shift it into "D" the electric switch would stay in park. Took the valve body off and realigned them and it now works as it should.
Yeah, half the battle is getting there. I'm currently waiting on some Artists to send me their sketches. I really appreciate your comments, It might not seem like much but it really helps my motivation.
@@goldies_garage im about to rebuild the 5.3 in my old 2000 Chevy. I would prefer a 6.0 or a 6.2 but I got the extra parts for the 5.3 already and found a good deal on an already brand new clean motor. The bigger ones will come later. Or I kinda want to put a 6.7L cummins in it lol we shall see.
@@aa-arachnidaddiction4886 I don't think there is anything wrong with a 5.3. If you slap a turbo or two, I know you have the space, it can make strong numbers reliably. Cummins are cool but they are heavy and expensive to fix. If you're not towing with the truck, a gas engine is a better option. Personal opinion of course.
@@goldies_garage yeah that’s the only reason I’m going with the 5.3 now. Bit cheaper and cheaper gas and not as heavy. The Cummins will just be a fun project thing. They get a lot of wheel torque, it will mostly be a burnout truck or something haha just something to do really. But yeah I plan on trying to build the 5.3 completely out from top to bottom so the bottom and top can handle everything. Don’t want to be breaking it back down..
@@goldies_garage honestly if I could build out this 5.3 and get atleast over 500hp out of it I’ll be happy with that then later I’ll upgrade to the 6.0 or 6.2 just hard to find a decent one without starting from bottom to top am that takes way more money. I don’t got that much money so it’s definitely a time project.
I've been watching your videos all day at what you did that International kb2 1949. My dad a 1947 kb2 with a 371 Oldsmobile turbo 400 trans rebuild rear end one hell of a work truck. Excellent job on your build and really enjoyed your videos
I really appreciate you watching, That sounds like a neat KB2. I would love to see it, feel free to send it to me on Instagram @Goldies_Garage. Thank you for commenting and letting me know.
