You Famous!! 😅 Glad you enjoyed the vid! These type of "quick" turnaround product videos are always a challenge to make lol (I got the arm like 2 days ago) 🙃
I don't understand one thing. I bought maono pd200x . The output volume is very low literally i have to scream to get loud voice. Y is it so.. all RU-vidrs are speaking in normal manner yet they sounds good ????
My first question would be, Have you checked the "Levels" in windows? Not sure if you're on 10 or 11 But on 10 go to Sounds > recording > Maono pd200x > right click > properties > levels And make sure they're turned up to 100 Otherwise all I can suggest is making sure you're close enough to the microphone & the physical gain dial on the mic is turned up too.. I've never had an issue with levels on that specific microphone so either a setting must be wrong somewhere OR you've got a faulty microphone..🤔
I'm Very Out of practise making long form videos..😅 I really need to start doing these more often, so I get used to talking for longer than 10 seconds at a time lol
Great video. I love my wave 1,and honestly, have considered upgrading in the past to the 3. But 95% of something that's 95% perfect is more than what I need. 😊
The audio quality is basically the same between the 2 anyway..🤷🏼♂️ So unless you're desperate for the dial to control volume/mix quickly, then I think you're fine to stick with the Wave 1 I'd ONLY consider upgrading if you were going to switch to an xlr setup instead
I appreciate the kind words as always!! 🔥 I actually love making these videos and I'm glad people enjoy watching them. I just wish I had more time so I could post more than once or twice a month 😅
it's 67mm i think... If its not on the lens itself (Usually on the front) Just check the amazon listing or B&H instead read the specs, it should tell you the "filter thread" size there
I got you covered!! The end card of this video linked to my Wave Link "filter setup" video.. 😅 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xc0zY7hC8B4.html Or if you aren't using Wave Link yet, I also have an OBS filter setup from a few months ago too - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jGsbi34um70.html
Loved the video. I have such a soft spot for this mic. I buy another mic and then always end back to this one, especially since they updated the market place filters for it (or maybe they were always there I only found them a few months ago!)
Thank you!!! 🔥 They've always had a few filters in the market place but they keep adding to them & upgrading them over time.. Wave Link basically accepts ANY VST plugin though, so if the marketplace doesn't have something you need, then you can download audio plugins from else where. "LoudMax" is one I always recommend, cause its a great limiter/loudness maximiser - Have an old video on it here > > ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZMCly050HgM.html
Did you mean the microphone arm I'm using?? (if that isn't the right product please let me know) That arm is also from Elgato - its the Wave Low profile mic arm - elgato.sjv.io/Owl-WhiteLP they just released a Heavy duty "Pro" version of that arm too which I'm hoping to make a video on soon. elgato.sjv.io/owLPPro Both are great but the "Pro" one is a bit overkill for light USB microphones like this one
I LOVE my wave DX! its such a good microphone for how affordable it is 🔥 I actually keep meaning to pick up another good shotgun mic ( I used to own an NTG3) but I think I'd probably get something from Sennheiser these days.
Hello, I found this video very helpful. I have a question if I may - What Input Volume should the Broadcast Stream Mix be set at? In WIN 11 this is found in System>Sound>All sound devices>Properties. Mine is set at 48 currently. Thank you!
I'm still on windows 10 so it might be different. But I always left the Go XLR's input at 100 in windows and just controlled all the volume using the Microphone Gain and Faders etc
Hope it helps!! 🔥 Since making this video (a year later) 1 thing I'd maybe change is have the compressor ratio at 4:1 rather than 5.6 like I suggested. IMO 5.6 is a bit too compressed and flat. 4:1 Ratio still sounds good but has a bit more emotion/energy to it, especially when you get excited. (Test both see what you prefer)
Buyer Beware: I placed an order with this company back in early July '24. I still haven't received the product or heard back from them and it's now late September '24.
Every single time I find one of these types of videos to make my microphone sound better. The settings and filters help a ton, but they NEVER bring the microphone quality to what this dude sounds like in the video. There's still always a noise that doesn't sound right and I do not for my life know what I'm missing - and I'm using the Elgato Wave 3, which appears to be what Nightow1 is using too. Do I not have enough foam panels in my room? Is the order of my filters wrong? Is it as simple as the mic is too far away? (I have nothing to be able to get the mic as close to my mouth as in the video, it's just sitting on my desk about a foot away) It's driving me crazy how every youtuber seems to sound impeccable with the same filters, but when I put them in either verbatim or with minor tweaks according to my setup, it never works.
Getting the mic close to your mouth makes a HUGE difference in sound quality... If its far away from your mouth you're going to have to increase the gain to be loud enough to hear you BUT that's also going to increase the sound of EVERYTHING else in your room Fans,Reverb, keyboard etc.. The closer to your mouth the cleaner & weirdly more bassy your voice will sound Do a quick test, Hold it near your mouth while talking, turn the gain down a bit and listen to how much better it sounds! I'd highly recommend pickup up a Mic stand/arm if possible. You don't need the elgato specific ones but you could pick up a cheap one on amazon for about $20 Something like this?, amzn.to/4deeLIb Won't be perfect but it'll really help until you can upgrade to a nicer/better one
@@ajsarsfield I really appreciate that input! The bassy sound os what I've noticed is specifically lacking and thats why I was getting so frustrated when all the settings dont help it. Audio has been one of the most frustrating things to figure out so far in my youtube journey, so you have no idea how much I appreciate the feedback! Thank you brother
@@ajsarsfield I'm running into new problems now, and I don't know if it's something that can be solved with TDR Nova. But first I should add that when I try installing Nova, it does not show up in my VST2 plugins when I try to add that filter so I don't know what's going on there. I want to use my voice range as much as I can for the type of content I want to make, but I find when I go for higher pitches in my voice, the mic audio cuts it out almost entirely. I'm also running into an issue where I'll need to catch my breath and do a quick inhale, and the mic pics up that inhale and it sounds terrible. Moving my head away from the mic wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't using a webcam to record myself along with it too. These are the primary issues I'm having so far since I got an arm stand for my wave 3. Update: The higher pitch problem may have been solved after rewatching this and updating my equalizer settings - but I'm gonna keep an eye on it.
It depends on how you want to connect/use it. If you want it to control 2 PCs at the same time, it can't do that. But you can use it to stream on 1 and game on another, as the Wavelink software can send the audio Across the capture card between the 2 PCs..
@@ajsarsfield yes 2 pc set up .. 1 for game other streaming ..so it needs to transfer audio from gamer to streaming...pretty much im looking to replace my full size go-xlr
