Bravisimo Roberto Castañon. No le viro la cara en ningún memento al gran Salvador Sánchez. En este resumen apenas se aprecia los golpes que el Español le propina al mejicano durante toda la pelea, y que los aguantó sin pestañear.
Michael Carbajal was a my favorite boxer as a kid growing up. He dropped some serious bombs and was sharp shooter with his punches. I saw this fight live with my grandpa who was shocked to see " Chiquita" Gonzalez get dropped by MC. What a fight!
There nvr was a knock down. The 1st time he lost ir even knocked down was when he was 40 an - 0 losses against buster Douglas in Japan b4 his prison sentence
Quarry was very under rated. He only lost to champions, on cut's. He fought in the 70's with Ali, Frazier, Lyle, Norton, Forman, Shavers etc. Any other decade and he would have been a champion.
Yory Boy was a beast .....helluva puncher....Knocked Trinidad down with the shortest punch to date ....I have seen in boxing....high KO ratio.... Good fighter
Fernando's legacy gets better with age. He was so fierce and passionate in the ring, but it comes out he is a cool guy out of the ring. I think his career got cut short by Trinanda's loaded gloves. If he didn't fight Trindad, I think he would have had been more of a long-term champion. The damage he experienced in the Trindad fight also affected his punch resistance. Prior to Trindad he had a good chin. Overall, Vargas was a complete fighter. He was a very good boxer-puncher, who was a fierce competitor. However, in his prime, for all his passion and intensity, he was surprisingly composed in the ring. The only fighters he lost to were fellow champions, many of whom were all-time great fighters, like Oscar De La Hoya. He would be a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame, had he not fought Trindad early in his career. However, I believe he still did enough to be in the HOF. Very good champion, who was just a little below such great fighters as De La Hoya and Mosley. However, it is not even clear he was that much below them, because we only saw him fight these great fighters after the damage he suffered in the Trindad fight. A prime, non-damaged version of Vargas maybe goes the distance against De La Hoya, and Vargas might have even edged Mosley in one of their fights.
As a fighter at a young age Fernando Vargas took a lot of punches unnecessary punches.. his trainers should've concentrated more on his defense.... he was equipped with everything else.. plus his footwork..👌
Hey NG_Ayman, did u edit the fight??? If so, PLEASE TAKE THE VID DOWN and re-edit it. I can't see anything let alone enjoy the fight! Stop cutting away so much of the action!!!
Remember Sugar Ray is in his prime and one of the best to ever do it in this weight class. Dickie put up a good fight! More than I expected really. Dickie had some skills.
Had never viewed this fight before. This one is slightly before I started watching boxing. However it's apparent that Quarry got the nod with the 2 knockdowns.
There was a Canadian fighter who George Foreman says was the hardest banger he faced EVER, I cant remember the name (its going back a few haircuts now)but I thought Quarry but it is likely Chuck Wepner, whatever name it was Ali also gave the guy plaudits for his Big Bang..(Theory )
