Ir Ahmad Hadri Haris was a visionary almost 20 years ago when he lead Malaysia's initiative to encourage photovoltaic solar energy system installations. I did a couple of them. 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗠𝗩 𝟬 - 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝘂𝘅 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 The IMV - Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle - series introduced by Toyota 20 years ago has been a very successful project for Toyota. It was not only about developing new models but also the first time Toyota had moved production and even development to bases outside Japan. The IMV series was developed under the leadership of Akio Toyoda, then CEO for the Asia Region and current Chairman of the Board. The IMV series was developed with local engineers in the spirit of genchi-genbutsu, ensuring the vehicles were developed to meet the specific needs of customers in the markets. As the automotive industry continues to evolve and customer needs diversify, the lifestyles of customers in Thailand - the biggest IMV market - also continues to change. This prompted Toyota to review the product line and return to its origins to create an IMV pick-up truck that is affordable and meets the needs of today’s customers. Referred to as IMV 0, the new model carries the Hilux Champ name but is very different in appearance from the current Hilux. It is presented as a mobility product for both commercial use as well as for personal use for recreational activities. Prices range from 459,000 to 577,000 baht (RM61,300 - RM77,000).
