The BBC interrupted a tense game of snooker in order to show the seige being ended. They were inundated with complaints for doing that. No complaints here though, for this episode! Wonderful run-through of this batch of kit news.
When the Iranians took over that ambassy, at the time i was in south korea on the DMZ, i didnt hear much about it. So for the life of me, I had know idea what the answer was but was going to guess the SBS. They are just as capable as the SAS, just not as famouse. Which is not a bad thing for special forces types. Thanks for kit release update.
👏👏Well done on the reading the in-depth description of the Border Models Yamato..That was some description of a great sounding kit.!.Border Models should sling you a free kit after that.!
Great looking kits but I'm slowly giving up the hobby. My last recent order and last order was the Trumpeter 1/16 King Tiger and Das Werk 234/2 Puma. Sold off half the stash because I have to move at the end of the month and at my age, and rate of build, I doubt I will have time to build the remaining stash kits. It's been a fun ride.
David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Sunday, 30 June, 2024-one year and one month since you originally had posted this video!). Quite a subtle, effectively evocative paint job you have presented us here, sir. Thank you for showing us your handiwork. Even more, the Academy (now the Revell Germany) 1:72nd-scale kit of the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina U.S. Navy Patrol Bomber-as well as scout, search & rescue, anti-submarine, etc.-looks right better than I had expected. As inexperienced as you tell us you are, you do yourself credit with your deftness in execution. You might try this kit again (or the noticeably larger Revell Monogram 1:48th-scale model), though this time, painting the fuselage in various blacks, to suggest the myriad tonal variations indicating the gradual wear to the camouflage, the play of the scant, cloud-covered moonlight, etc., will give you (and us!) a night-prowling U.S. Navy “Black Cat(alina)” that proved fatally unlucky to all their enemy combatants who in the dark carelessly had crossed paths with her . . . . .
Hi David Thank you for your interesting comment and thoughts. Yes I would do this again but 1/48 is way to big for me - it would be a while though as I have a large stash to get through - Take it easy Kind regards Jim
Sweet!😊 Just got started on my HB B24. Super nice! The only gripe is the gun turret seams😢 Silly design but I'm hoping aftermarket 3d may create something...
I started watching this then stopped and changed into full dinner suit with dicky-bow for this awards ceremony..Might I say how wonderful all the top 20 were and it was so lovely bumping into Joan again.!.Thanks for the award show and congratulations to all the top 20..👏👏👏…🥂🍾🏆🍾🥂💃🕺🍾🥂🥂🥴🍾🥂🥂🤢🍾🥂🤮🤮🤮…..✌️🥸👍
How are you finding your airbrush??? I have been looking into these as they are supposed to be very VERY similar to the Iwata Custom Micron. Obviously externally different but the air nozzle and needle are exactly the same system apparently built on the same production line so I’d be interested in your feedback please. You probably know the Iwata costs in access of £500+ these cost between £20-£150 and spares are a lot cheaper for yours 😅😅😅 Would also like to say how much I like your channel you show your mistakes and tell us if something is difficult with the kits so it’s very refreshing to see that 😎😎😎 not everyone is like this so we’ll done you on a great channel 🤩🤩🤩 all the very best for the future, Kenny 😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Kenny Thanks for the nice comments; it means a lot. I use my Iwata Eclipse HP-CS mostly and I lovethis one. I have a bigger needle set so I can spray varnish neat without having to dilute it. This is my go to the expensive My Hobby 771 is hardly used, as it pretty much only does the fine work. My Iwata Eclipse HP-CS is pretty bashed up nowadays, but I would buy another without hesitation. Best wishes Jim
@@TheScaleModeler yes I’ve done a lot of research into the 771’s and they are wonderful airbrushes. I’ve got two HP-CH’s .3mm nozzle and a HB-BP .2mm nozzle. I can get up close and personal with the BP with its .2 needle for figures exceptional for camouflage patterns on the clothing 😍😍😍 but the CH’s are absolutely stunning work horses tough as old boots to but I do love custom micron’s I’ll never be able to own one but the 771 is extremely close to the micron same head design and airflow system just a few changes on the outside is all the difference. But at a third of the price 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎
Wow what a nice selection to chose. I've already ordered that Takom sdk 250/1 half track, plan on building as a escort vehicle for Rommels Griffin/Grief in north africa. Thank you for the video, love the new format
I literally picked up the Eduard F-5e,Like a month ago,I haven’t built it yet,but it looks amazing in Real life, and it will be fun for sure, and a lot of other amazing kits,Thanks for letting me know about a couple of these that I somehow didn’t know of!
I believe a new video format ? It's very visually appealing but it will also be increasing my model kit budget :-) This always help keep modelers up to date with such an expanded global modeling market. Cheers?, Bob
My Wife has always said I have a lot to answer for. The regular Beyond the Sprue will be back very soon. This is just a bit of fun to show what’s trending 😁
My home is LONG ISLAND, NY. At Farmingdale Republic Airport, there's an air power museum they are currently restoring a Catalina PBY! Regards, Andy, Annmarie's husband.
Oh thank goodness beyond the spree is here again..I couldn’t face another week without seeing jumping subscribe chick at the end..Oh,I do fancy that Miniart 1/35 Puma and the ICM 1/35 German ambulance trio as well..The miniart 1/35 holiday makers are also interesting as I can make them to remind me what a holiday is.. Thanks for the video and all the best✌️🥸👍
As someone who can't even make a bed, I'm fascinated to see the liquid cement goes on afterwards and not as the meat in the sandwich, as it were. I've always been too intimidated to make an Eagle kit. I've not even made a basic kit. Don't know where to start as a complete beginner. What could possibly go wrong? 🚀💥👨🚀
Thank you Bob, I actually loved making this plane I found it very rewarding with enough challenges to test most modellers with experience. It sits proudly in my display case 👍
A fitting tribute to all those from many places that took part in Normandy to free Europe.. Excellent build there and the scene you created looks really great..Like the effects you added that worked very well..This D-Day build was well worth the wait..I’ve got the same kit and good old Tamiya, the kit still stands up.. Thank you for your video tribute and all the best✌️🥸👍
The British, Commonwealth & Free Forces beaches were originally codenamed after fish: Gold fish, Sword fish & Jelly fish, but almost immediately, for the sake of convenience, 'fish' was dropped. That was fine, until the Canadians started kicking-off when they realised that they were going down in history as landing on Jelly, so the codename was changed to Juno.
I think it looks great, especially the still shots, it looks like the real thing. A weapon of war pausing for brief moment of human kindness. Great job in my humble opinion. Least we forget what took place 80 years ago. Gob Bless each and everone of them.
Damn mate, that is powerful,I am so Happy that you mentioned all of the nations involved,as I am Polish, and a lot of people seem to forget about all the foreign RAF squadrons, and also just the forces that landed.Great looking Churchill aswell,I am making one for a tribute aswell, but later today I can only release a build,as I haven’t finished it yet, sadly.Great weathering though, and lest we forget
Thanks for the update. I realy like the German WWII cargo truck, have Tamiya version with extra kits of 55 gallon drums, Jerry cans. Haven't built it, saving it for winter. I also really want the Miniart M3 Stuart but I haven't made up my mind about with interior or without.
Silver was not a D-Day Beach. The beaches were Gold, Juno and Sword for the British and Canadian's. Omaha and Utah for the Americans. God Bless all those who served and RIP to all those who gave their all. As far as the photo it was taken off Omaha, and I believe Robert Cappa took the photo.
So many models so little time, or budget. And yes, the Swordfish does need a pilot. I saw a box review on that kit and its quite nice, even has marking holes for rigging I really enjoy your channel, best one to inform modelers on what's coming up, the key is finding a distributor but that's become more easier with the Internet, Plus your quiz up front is fun, so far I'm at 100%. However, unfortunately that comes with the wisdom of aging :-) Cheers .
The interior looks just wonderful. I was wondering how you handled painting the geodesic pattern using aluminum paint. Was there a easy accurate way or did you hand brush? It looks perfect and would very much like to know how you did that part of the fuselage painting.
Appreciate your kind comments- after lots of thought the only solution I could realistically find was 2 days of intense brush painting and wearing high power magnifying glasses. Dead chuffed at the end of it though 👍
I thought so; thanks very much for your quick response. It is going to take time and great patience to do this, but I think it's worth the effort. My plan is to perhaps use a micro brush. I gave some thought to initially priming, then painting, a base color of aluminum and then slowly filling each recess area between the, geodesic pattern with the brick red color just as much work. I will keep you posted. This is a great build and your presentation is excellent. I will subscribe JP.
