HI got a question for you I have a self defense cane but am not really trained to use it does you think if I sign up for a fencing class it will help improve my ability to use a cane as self defense tool? Ideas please thank you
First advice maybe don't have kids inhaling their own carbon dioxide during aerobic excercises? Are they training to be fencers or surgeons? Nuff said.
Could this workout be made ever harder if we added a small dumbbell to the sword hand? I've always thought that would add a nice bit of resistance to the movement patterns, but not sure if it would throw off body mechanics too much...
The biggest mistake fencers make is that They do not lead with the point. They put all their weight on their front leg. They need to stand up straight because a lunge never hits the target. It is only an assist. So consequently, They start off with a lunge and the point arrives last and doesn’t hit the target but fals flat.
I just started fencing last week and on my second day I was already playing against other people who started earlier than me. I was not doing so good and it confused me because one of my instructors has a Russian accent plus the fencing mask on. It was hard to tell what he was saying most of the time, but I tried my best
Thank you. This is a great workout. Let's you know what type of shape you're in while improving leg strength, explosion and coordination. By the way, on the squat lunge, if you add a snap at the end of your forward hand, you could develop a nasty jabber-cut.
I liked this video because its content is good and presented in a straight forward easy to understand way that can help a fencer and/or a coach to learn and teach this material. I don't understand the amount of dislikes on this video. Maybe people don't like 80's cartoons.
