hey man im from long island also. looking at insurance auction bikes and such for my first bike and i am mechanically inclined. although, i have been seeing bikes on IAA and copart that have videos of them running healthy & only have fairing, mirrors, turn signals, all cosmetic damage. have you seen any of these and have you seen them work out? im looking to spend around 5k, even if that means I have to leave some scraped parts, I just want to ride.
I have owned 6 bikes since I started riding in 2018, 5 of those six bikes I purchased from copart. I buy bikes that are listed as “runs and drives” so as to ensure that the only work I have to do is cosmetic. The more popular the bike is the more info and parts you’ll be able to find on line. I’ve never used IAA before but I definitely want to check them out, if they’re vehicles go for prices similar to coparts then they would be the better choice (save on shipping)
