Always loved your sound. There's just somethung about it. I wish i knew of you back in the early 90s when i lived in the US. Now in Australia, your music is such a go to for me. Thank you.
I was in college when I first heard The Violet Burning. I lost track of them until about 6 months ago and discovered all this great music I've missed out on ... until now. What a treat!
Sweet! This sounds like it has some influences from Tarantula by the Pumpkins, the harmonic slides, the progression. But very much it's own song in it's own right for sure! Didn't Jeff Schroder play for The Violet Burning, who is in the Pumpkins now and was also featured in Tarantula? Maybe it's the other way around lol! ;-)
Thanks for the kind words. Yes Jeff still records a bit with the violets. He plays on a few songs from TSOOL, the album which this song is from (though he’s not on this particular song), his lead on Where it All Begins is pretty kickass. He also plays on a number of songs on the forthcoming new albums. He’s a great friend and a wonderful musician. 🙏🖤🎆🤘
@@TheVioletBurning That's awesome. I'll have to go check it out! Is this Michael? I became a Violet Burning fan because my friend, Ray Groom, introduced me to your stuff after discovering I was a huge Pumpkins fan. He talks about you guys all the time! In my own song writing I hear influences from you guys haha! I really like a CD he bought called Distortion Is Our Friend and I'm a Stranger In this Place (I think) but I don't see it on iTunes. Ever a possibility of that becoming available? I need to go back and listen to your other albums.
@@coreyreynolds3585 Ray > one of the great music influencers and DJs of the 90s. most of our stuff is intentionally not on streaming locations, but easily found on our website. I'd also point out that I don't know what "tarantula" is, but probably because we are influenced more by Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. 🙂peace, tvb
@@TheVioletBurning Yeah, he's a cool dude. Thanks for directing me to your website. Treat yourself and give a listen to Tarantula ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qeUKdcCL4ko.html Jeff is in the video. You'll trip on the common influences. Even the solo has common tonalities. Anyways. God bless!
Sweet Mercy is my most favorite of all VB/MP songs... and I get to hear it every time I call the Snohomish County District Court - Everett, WA and a clerk puts me on hold. It's music only (no lyrics) and it's been changed slightly, but I can definitely tell it's origins. Hope MP is getting royalties off that but my guess is the phone-tree company changed it just enough so that it's not copyright infringement.
HaHa yeah, this video is definitely more relevant today than when it was first posted. I hope they release some new stuff. Their last triple album was a literal, bona fide masterpiece.
This song is so beautiful. I love how almost all your songs are so intimate with the LORD. i remember you guys at the Packing House in Redlands, CA 9/26/1992. Your striped tights. :)
