Its Brent 0331. Great channel by the way, he tests all kinds of camos and army tactics. Ive seen vids with walnut colored dye that looks incredible from a camo effectiveness pattern!. so i wonder if you could make a apple green / walnut combo.
I keep watching these dying videos. I keep coming to the conclusion that I spend quite a bit of time in the one biome where UCP kinda works. I just wish the dirt color of the UCP was a shade or two darker. The sage color seems to match sagebrush pretty well.
If you want more natural dyes, try walnut hulls. Walnut hulls are a very old (like hundreds of years) solution to making ink for quill pens. You boil the walnut hulls in water and the resulting ink is a sepia-brown color that is very permanent. The longer you let it boil, the darker the ink. But you can also use it to dye clothing and it should work better than cocoa (way better than chocolate drink mix) in adding some light brown tones. Nice part is that it works on synthetic fabrics. Walnut hulls will dye the cotton-nylon ripstop blends that are common today. The tannins in the walnut dye make it a really durable color and if you do it and decide you want it darker or want to touch up an older dye job, just mix up another batch. It doesn't get splotchy. You can even use it to darken leather.
Awesome concept and cool videos in your dyeing series. I have an old set of ECWCS parka and pants in ACU I want to try this on; the black looks sick, and if it works I might do 2 sets one in apple green also; Any idea if the RIT dye will work and take on the goretex fabric without hurting the waterproofing.
Thanks for showing. I´ve done some dying with RIT Dye and such, good stuff. Once I tried dying a MOLLE pouch with the US Army UCP camo digital pattern with coffee. Just bought cheap instand coffee, used a lot (like a strong coffee) and boiled the pouch approx 30-40 minutes. With big success. Even after washing the pouch in the washing maschine it is fine (and smells like a cup of coffee for a long time😆)
Good video. I am just wondering why you are hearing back the recorded speech if you are using a different TX / RX frequency? If you program an offset instead of using A and B you will not hear your self twice
I have a 52 8N with a Davis loader. It does everything I need it to do on our place. I moved a Rockwell 3 phase cabinet saw into my shop with it - maybe 900lbs? The ole Armstrong power steering was struggling then 🤣
I am looking for about your products please lace me a message. When I post this , I am looking for more information on this. Looking for more information hope builds this . And what is the range on this.
ACU is Army Combat Uniform. The old woodland camos were called BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) but that referred to the uniform style not the camo pattern. ACU also refers to the style of the uniform. You've got class A, class B, and you've got ACU. The camo pattern itself, which is what sucks, is called UCP or Universal Camo Pattern.
Most people soaked theirs longer, and came out very bright neon green. Im glad you didnt love the way they came out and its given me some ideas for my own project
Ok, so I have a really good one for ya, I have always wanted a winter cover for the old PASGT flak vest, but they were never made. How would you go about dying one to pure white?
Like the sheriff star on boiler, I used to set up cop cars on the side and have them all over my shop👍 and really good info on the non pressurized system. That’s what I run. Thanks
