I do have a question. This Welsh revival happened at the same time with the Azusa Street revival. Is there a tangible link connecting them both together?
Hi Chris, Frank Bartleman in his book on the Azusa Street Revival shares correspondence between Evan Roberts (key leader of the Welsh Revival c. 1904-05) and William Seymour (key leader of the Azusa Street Revival c. 1906). They were aware of the work of the Lord in each revival, The letter exchange (as I recall) was in the realm of encouragement.
It's amazing to see Jim again after almost 50 years. I met him when he and Marie moved to Humboldt County CA in about 1975 when I was a forestry major at Humboldt State University, and my wife and I were attending First Baptist Church in Arcata, adjacent to the campus. At that time Jim and Marie had come on staff at the church, and we were the live-in custodians at the church. I had become an elder, and I knew God had equipped me as a teacher of the Word, so talking to, or listening to Jim teach was always a treat. I had recently bought George Warnock's book "The Feast of Tabernacles", and talked to Jim about this, and was surprised to learn he was one of the original elders at the beginning of the movement in '48. Still have that book too.

Hi Peter, Great to hear from you! Trust you are well. The ashes used on Ash Wednesday come from burning the Palm Crosses from the previous year on Palm Sunday. I did this the first year I was ordained (1984) and still have only used 1/2 of what a few Palm Crosses produced! Guess I'm good for another 40 years!!
