DO NOT BUY A DRH HOME! I wish someone had told me this 3 years ago. DRH uses the absolute lowest quality labor and materials and takes zero accountability for their work. Do one simple google search for DR Horton here on RU-vid and you will be overwhelmed by the countless tragic situations that have occurred with DRH home owners. If you are in this situation, you can look up the labor licensing site for your state and file a complaint. If DRH does not comply, their builders license can be suspended. Please share.

Dudes proud to live in mount pleasant 😂 It’s yankee town now my friend. Grew up there, went to Wando, purchased my first home in mount pleasant and then got the heck out of there. No locals left 😂
This is a terrible layout. It’s like you come in your front door and you’re going through a maze! Also the living room and master bedroom are way too small.
I noticed that too. The immediate impression upon walking in is “wow this is cramped”. Living room should be in the front, remove one of the bedrooms, remove the coat closet, shrink the ac room, etc. Yet this is one of the best selling model of home. It’s what the market demand is asking for. Oh well I’m closing on a cali next month
I am not a repairman nor do I want to be. I must say this has been an extra burden on me purchasing my Lennar home. First, on the day of the walk threw the house was dusty. The grass was being put down in my yard on the same day. Meaning the grass had not been watered at all. I had a scratch on my kitchen counter which the representaive said it is not covered under the warranty. The same day of the walk threw was the closing. Meaning Lennar is rushing to fast to close the deal but not doing good quuality work. this has been a mess. I moved in on February 28th and it has taken me a whole month trying to clean up their mess with several different items that need to be done and I still have a few minor problems. And now you want me to do a virtual repair? I have paid good money. I am honestly thinking about selling this house and getting me another house from respondsible builder.
Yeah, I almost purchased a Lennar home because it was really nice looking. I knew they didn't have the best reputation but I figure that stuff is community specific. Upon looking closer, I saw all types of issues while the salesperson gave us a tour which made me think twice. The previous buyer's financing fell through right before closing so that house should have already been closing ready and it clearly wasn't. I'm glad I didn't do it. I purchased a DR Horton home but they have a questionable rep as well. I think it's mainly because they are the largest builder (more opportunity for stuff to go wrong) and then you have so many subcontractors out there that they hire. You don't know which ones are good or bad. I had purchased a new construction DRH previously in 2009 as well and didn't have any issues. I spoke with people in this new community and no one has had any issues so I feel comfortable. They do their walk through/orientation 1 week before closing and then I have an independent inspector coming in before the walkthrough as well. They've already laid sod and have mostly cleaned the place up even before the walkthrough. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Lennar.
Danielle, I would strongly caution you against purchasing a DRH built home. The express line of homes is well documented to use below industry standard materials, especially the 3 tab roofing shingles. I have a similar model in Myrtle Beach and have to replace my roof out of pocket on an 8 year old home. There is clear negligence in the installation but DRH will not accept any ownership of their work.
Whoever took this video needs to learn how to properly take a video of this sort... Way too fast, they were swinging the camera around too much, watching this literally made me sick to my stomach!
Did a phase inspection which we told we were able to do by sales people. Inspection came back with things that needed to be fix prior to the next step, was then told by sales people that they would not fix these things and as long as the house passes their inspection they will not fix anything 🙄🙄🙄🙄
