What about software like Publii, flat file CMS, would those be headless too? Not in the Cloud but can be accessed by anything (as far as I know) because they don't use a lot of different code. I've been trying to understand headless CMS for awhile, thanks for the explanation. Made it a bit clearer but still not quite what I want. I'm not a fan of the Cloud yet, I like having more control of my content than leaving it out there.
Publii is a flat file CMS, which means it stores website content in files instead of a database. It is designed to be used for creating static websites, and it does not have a built-in API to serve content to other applications- short answer is no, Publii is not a headless CMS, as it does not separate content management from presentation. Thanks! I think the fact that Agility has pages, modules (components), and sitemaps as native constructs is the biggest differentiator I was getting at here, essentially allowing you to expose component-driven development concepts for your editors.
AI/ML Management: "I don't know what that does, but I've seen it listed as a feature." To me, this sounds like marketing without any technological backing. Slapping buzzwords like "AI" or "ML" onto something has been a strategy for years (as with "blockchain").
I am developer and not associated with product at all but 100% agree JAM stack is great for developers. Javascript api markup any decent dev should be able to wire that up.
So with headless wordpress does that eliminate having to use the wordpress dashboard, I'm not a fan of wordpress in general, it just feels too clunky, I much prefer building with something like React, must learn Next and Gatsby soon.
