Thanks for your videos. I partly use the to see if I can ride the different trails with my kids. They’re in a 150 Polaris Ranger, so the terrain and skill level needed are important to know before we get on the trail. What camping area did you stay at in this one?
I'm glad they helped you out. That's three exact reason I make them. We stayed at Mulberry Mountain on this trip. The campsites have plenty of room for large campers and RVs and the bath house is close by and clean.
There are a few small ones on the little creeks, but I haven't seen enough water the 4 times I've been out there to see them flowing. There is a bigger one down the county road a ways along with a "cave". The coordinates are 34.98264, -94.24743.
Belle Starr is a great trail if you don't have much time to ride. You could easily do it in 2.5 to 3 hours without any stops. 2/3 is very easy with the last 1/3 being a little more rough. There are a few spots where you need some decent ground clearance, but most utility UTVs should be able to make through if you pick your lines carefully.
They were extremely tight which is why we haven't been back. I don't think certain parts of that trail system have had maintenance done on them in over 5 years.
@@ydfs agree on that. Been about 3 years since I've been... Going to try to make it up there before summer. Trails at Mena have turned into a gravel road in the last 10 years :)
Thanks for video. Nice trail there. I need to put this on my list. Just got back from riding on 4/30/23 at Bee Mtn. area in Ouachita. I'm in N. Houston so Ouachita is shorter drive than the Ozarks and I have daylight when I arrive to find a dispersed camp spot. Then ride.
I'd say 4-6 hours depending on how fast you go and how many things you stop to check out. We usually move on the slower side and it takes us around 6 hours.
Thanks! The black diamonds weren't too bad. There is one spot where I had to take the go around because some of the boulders were just a little too big for my machine.
If you're there to do nothing but ride fast, you'll go through it all in a day. If you stop at all of the sites (waterfalls, overlooks, creek crossings, buffalo) then I think you could easily find a weekend of things to do.
I'm running the stock A arms and shocks for right now along with a SuperATV 2" lift. I did replace my worn out factory bushings with Garage Products bushings though. I'm hoping to swap over to the SuperATV high clearance A arms soon.
@@ydfs thanks, I had OnX free trial but didn’t want to commit just yet. Also just received some paper maps I ordered for the area. Would like to find that cave near here next time I go but need something smaller since I only have a 4x4 vehicle
I greatly appreciate you sharing this video. I'm new to side-by-sides and am looking for beginner to medium trails and what you have shown looks right up my alley! Will be going to this ranch soon!
I will be at the A-10 welcoming ceremony tomorrow morning at the 188th. I can burn you a copy of this on a DVD. The Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce has put my video into their archives. You may be able to get a copy there. Also, the ANG in Little Rock is using the video for some of their recruiting. That may be another option. It would probably still be easier to get a copy from me. Send me a message and I will get you my e-mail address.
This airshow was the last time that the 188th fighter wing would fly the F-16,because in 2008 they will fly the A-10 warthog in the fire and fury show, and how would I get a copy of this video I am a member of this unit and was my first airshow with them?
