A collection of math videos including math basics, algebra, calculus, math for nurses, statistics, and other topics in mathematics. I originally produced them for the courses I was teaching.
Having to constantly go back to the first couple seconds of the video just to see if I miss anything pisses me off the fact that I literally copy everything he did it Word for Word and it’s still not working
This is a rather silly way of proceeding when it is obvious that the denominators on the right are the factors of the denominator on the left: x^2-7x+12, = (x-3)(x-4). The equation can be easily simplified: x^2-20 = 3(x-4) +5(x-3) x^2-20= 3x-12+5x-15 x^2-8x+7 = 0 This is another obvious factorization: (x-1)(x-7) = 0 And the two blatant solutions are 1 and 7. x= {1, 7} No calculator needed. Let alone a graphing calculator. Telling students to press the keys of a specific brand of calculator is not teaching mathematics. While you're at it, just tell your students to transcribe the equation on WolframAlpha. Out of curiosity, something may catch their attention there and they may actually learn something, like recognizing the obvious factors of a quadratic.
After watching your video I was able to complete a module that I struggles for 3 hours. We need urgent help with an assignment that has to be completed by tomorrow. My husband and I are desperately seeking for help. We've solved over 8,000 math questions. If we don't finish it. He won't be able to get into a program. He worked so hard, and I looking for help to help him out. I visited your blog and noticed you talked about faith. I truly believe God put your video in our way. Would you be able to help us? There is no much left. We knock so many doors and no one was able to help. If you can, it will be highly appreciated 🙏
The video shows one way to do this but personally I prefer a different method. For anyone else coming to this video you can also just do 6,638,976 divided by 3,115 = 2131.292456. Then take the whole number from that (2131) and input it into this equation 6,638,976 - (3,115 * 2131) which gives you the remainder of 911. Another example: 25 divided by 7 = 3.571428571 and use the whole number from that answer (3) in this equation, 25 - (7 * 3) which gives you the remainder of 4. Both methods work but it's somewhat unnecessary to convert it to a mixed number which then relies on it being rounded to get the correct answer.
Really appreciate the videos. That being said, I think for part c it should be: 1 - poissoncdf(3,4) as opposed to 1 - poissoncdf(3,3). The question is asking for 4 or more and not 3 or more.
