Scott W. Henggeler's wife Sonja K. Schoenwald was investigated by ProPublica for accepting dollars from pharmaceutical companies to drug their so-called juvenile "patients" and Ms Schoenwald was barred from recieving a license in any state in the U.S. for lying under oath to attempt to have "patients" committed for her unnecessary and expensive treatment. @Christina Cortez I am glad that you found the program to be "resourceful." But an actual criminal, unlicensed therapist such as Sonja Schoenwald and her husband created this program, wrote the rules and oversee it to this day and have made a huge amount of money selling this "theapeutic scheme" to unsusepcting and caringparents and society. If this weren't the case, ProPublica would not have investigated Sonaj Schoenwald and published the negative results. Schoenwald and her husband Scott Henggeler have enriched themselves from the suffering of others, and many of the young people who were forced in to the program have NOT said it "benefited" them, nor was it "resourceful." Don't these young people count? I wish the facts did align more with what you have said. "iIF ONLY" the world were different and "therapy" offered by so-called "professionals" didn't devolve into dangerous manipulation and fake "help" for at risk youth by the creators of the program. It's really sad that the most vulnerable of our society can be used solely for financial gain by people that are not even licensed due to their past criminal and fraudulent behavior. This gives the program a huge red flag and a giant black mark in my mind. I am glad that it seemed to have helped you, and I wish it were true for the majority of people which is was not. Truthful and honest people need to write and lead programs to help others, and have a real care for the ones they purport to "help." I have to believe the investigation done by ProPublca more than a sales pitch by "professionals" with only a profit midset and desire for cotrol of vulnerale teenagers, when their own professioal standing was removed due to their illegal and unethical behavior. That's heartbreaking to me.
