It's not that bad though. Yeah, I get it, the humans don't fit in this world, they should've been animated, yadda yadda yadda. But it's not like the CGI it self is bad. It's very well done imo. The sheep and llama definitely aren't the best, but those piglins look fire. Plus, the overhead shots low-key look beautiful. Tbh, my biggest problem is what their doing with the story, not the actual looks. It seems like their just doing a Jumanji "human in a video game" type story. Personally, I think a Minecraft story mode approache would do much better here. Minecraft has no story, you're meant to make it. So instead of doing a story about Minecraft, we should make one in Minecraft. Lastly, it's just a teaser. I know first impressions matter, but the movie isn't out yet. Give it a chance.
The problem is we are getting this in less than a year. The production is likely very close to done by this point. This was the product of 8 years of work and we're at this level of quality. How are they gonna fix the graphical complaints AND the story complaints in less than a year if it took them 8 to get here? This isn't just fixing a few minor issues like one character model, most people hate the whole thing. This is a massive job and they shot themselves in the foot giving themselves a release date especially one this early.
@@TheDogeOfSarcasm CL, you're right. It might bo over 😬 Lets hope they pull a Sonic the hedgehog and roll back the movie. But considering how close we are, it might be too late.
@@sikosonix901 Yeah. I can see hope for the movie if they delay it, but if not I think things aren't looking to good. There is always hope though, after all the backlash they'll surely at least try to fix whatever they can.
They even got the Piglins wrong. They're supposed to turn into Zombified Piglins if they stay outside of the Nether for too long. How did no one who worked on the movie realize this?
When 90% of the internet agrees something looks terrible, you best believe it's terrible. Getting TWITTER of all places to almost unanimously agree is near impossible
I’m gonna be completely honest, I feel like people are overreacting when comparing this to the original sonic design, that looked nothing like sonic, this still looks pretty much like a sheep. I also feel like people are overreacting about the trailer in general, there are much worse movies than this, video game movies included
One of the saddest teaser reactions ever. Goddamm i just wonder if they will even do anything about it, like, redoing everything would be way to much work.
I’m probably the only person that thinks this movie has potential even if it looks like Minecraft with RTX on. The kind of RTX that makes your PC explode.
I think I'll enjoy it, personally. I feel if they went for the animation route they did with Minecraft Story Mode, it would look like countless videos that people have uploaded to RU-vid already. People can already animate Minecraft really well, so it'll be interesting to see a different approach.
I saw the teaser, and I thought that Jason Momoa was an alright pick for Steve. Boy howdy am I in the dawg hause for this one, whoo boy. Edit: thanks for the reddit gold.
Someone genuinely said it best in one of the comments: The internet needs to do the same thing we did for the Sonic movie. That franchise was saved and is now GOOD, this looks genuinely off
Or actually don't be a goddamn dick you guys worry about animation artists being overworked but then you talk about making them redo the designs God you people are so goddamn irritating
The Sonic Bullying Incident all gave you an hivemind of delusion, since now you expect that everything will be fixed by talking shit and bully the big producers to do so, but in fact, you all don't seem to realize that it never worked after that. A most recent example of this proof: Borderlands! It didn't get fixed by doing all of the trashtalk and bullying to plead a fixing You saw Paramount do it, and now y'all expect that others will do the same. It's Warner Bros we talking about, they're the worst big movie company currently
Keep in mind, Warner bros is behind this, and they are allergic to animation. And they aren’t afraid to ruin popular franchises (Space Jam 2, Velma, that 2016 PPG reboot)
people are going berserk because it's minecraft, a decade-old game with an extremely dedicated player base, being put through the hollywood grinder and made to look like a weird fan-made film. same thing happened when sonic's first movie trailer dropped
I agree with the original comment here, my first thought was that it looked fantastic. My only issue was the whole idea of some kind of nuclear looking family entering the overworld, that sounds like a shit copy paste plot. However I like the visuals, I think the costumes are decent, that wolf howling showed that this visual design can still take on a serious tone as well as a sarcastic / silly one. I think people on twitter (right twiX) are generally morons, and I'm sure they think the same of me.
It is actually kind of crazy how the internet went from getting hyped for the Sonic 3 movie to feeling disappointed for the Minecraft movie in a span of a week.
When someone sent a video of the minecraft trailer that was reuploaded by a random channel, at first i thought it was a hoax and then the guy who sent the video told me that warner bros. uploaded the video on their channel too, i'm not a big fan of the movie and i don't like the mobs design at all, and i don't like steve and the other main characters on this movie too
@@deadeye_john It's a movie about the BEST SELLING VIDEOGAME OF ALL TIME. Are the people paying to watch it wrong for expecting more than an "okay"? The way they designed these mobs is unnerving, and voicing this complaints is the only way to see a positive change. If it releases as is, it'd be delusional to think it'd be a flop because of the source material, but it's absolutely getting lower revenue than it should
@@migo1559 I disagree. This is only a teaser because we saw little of what will be in the film. This is gonna be a box office success anyway because of kids and parents that never played it
