What an unique experience to watch. The only disappointment after watching the wheel combinations refitted to the tracks was that you did not show the rescued vehicle being put back into the works depot. Great viewing and we still have many memories of making the trip from top to bottom on several occasions during the late 8p0's and early 90's.
Boa tarde, sou do Brasil, e tenho assistido muitos vídeos de ferrovias, mas essa é a primeira vez que vejo um trabalho desse, eu já ouvi músicas que fala do trem fora da linha, mas agora eu vi que é uma realidade.
This vid maybe long but it captures the experience very well. The lack of dialog is the strongest feature of the video. The silence gives a feeling of great sadness. Almost like some large creature that has met its demise. I have experienced a similar feeling at some of the fatal crashes I have attended. What distinguishes this disaster is that the iron beast is saved by diligent skilled and dedicated workers or lovers of the beast!! One odd thing is that the train is heading in a different direction than then in the beginning of the video. Thanks for sharing this with the world. I have watched this vid several times.
Then there was a massive crash luckily, no one was hurt, but the engine had sustain damage to the wheels and valve gear as well as the boiler sustained some dents. The engine was sitting there for a long time before they go help to put the engine back on track
@@johnnichol9412 what do you mean ..? I have read all there is to read on this incident and nowhere does it disclose the actual location along the track. I do recall the commentary saying near some points or something but it was of no use ...
23:48 The building on the left is Bottom Points Signal Box. 24:12 The railway crossing audio you can hear is from the mainline (not the Zig Zag Railway itself), which is on the opposite side of the depot. 24:34 When leaving Bottom Points platform, you would pass Bottom Points Signal Box on you right and then that corrugated shelter you can see in this timestamp. So just past the corrugated shelter heading from Bottom Points to Top Points. I hope that helps!
