Technically, the 224nm route to cover the 214 Wainwrights was completed in 4 hours, although the total flight time starting and finishing at St Michaels airfield, and including 2 fuel stops at Troutbeck, was 6:30 hours over 375nm.

A "Wainwright" is the name given to the 214 English peaks (or fells) in the Lake District in Cumbria, described in Alfred Wainwright's Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, 7 vols (1955-66). Wainwrights include mountains such as the highest Wainwright, Scafell Pike (978m or 3209 ft), down to the smallest Wainwright, Castle Crag, which at 290m or 951ft is the only one under 1000 feet in height. To summit one of these peaks is called "bagging a Wainwright".

One of my favourite Fells and good to see you finally made it, even better, you got a great view from the summit as well, cheers Alan

One of our most favourite walks and we did it twice last year and in perfect weather too. We always take the same route as you but tent to catch the bus back from the Lodore Falls hotel, back into Keswick, cheers Alan

@@adventure_junkie - Not sure if it was in this video or another one of yours that I watched but I saw that she is well "behaved" - she remained so calm and composed at the sight of a sheep :-)

She is well behaved and very smart! I would describe it as smart enough to know when the sheep are achievable! Hence never off lead in the lake District as per the national parks advice!

Always went up the nose of Fleetwith Pike first, before Haystacks but this route looks a lot gentler assent, which will be good for my grandson who wants to do Haystacks but not keen on the tough route up Fleetwith Pike. A nice walk out and your dog really seemed to enjoy it as well, cheers Alan

Good call not taking you dog over the edges and a very enjoyable watch. I was up Helvellyn twice last year, going over the edges and had two very different experiences. We were at Grisedale Tarn last month but turned left and went up St Sunday Crag and then Berks on the way down, canny hike. Cheers Alan

That was one tough walk, although, I bet Zala could have done it a second time around. Perfect day for it and then views were spectacular, especially with a bit of snow still kicking about. Great watch, really enjoyed it, cheers Alan

12 miles was a canny hike, especially as it involved a bit of rough walking. Lovely looking dog and I suppose it needs a good walk out, which it certainly got there, cheers Alan
