I feel like the way you are approaching this comparison likely indicates that you have misunderstood the way that walking burns stored energy in the body. You will not burn more calories by going faster, you burn more calories by going further. If you are walking or running for the same amount of time and do it at two different speeds you will burn a different amount of calories, but that's because you traveled different distances during the same period. I feel like it's an important distinction because you might be giving people the impression that doing the same distance with additional weights is equivalent to just walking faster, which is wrong. The amount of additional calories burnt due to the higher effort level will always be offset by the shorter amount of time it takes to cover the same distance to the point where it's fairly negligible. I feel like it's also a bit of a mistake to track this in terms of calories burned during and immediately after these stimuli, as carrying weights will create different adaptations as compared to just walking, and even running. If someone's metabolic response to that stimulus is hypertrophic, then the recovery process will burn calories not accounted for in the model you're employing and the increase in muscle mass will increase the amount of calories burnt through basic metabolic processes in a way that isn't applicable to walking.

Honestly i think the dead hang test is not reliable because of the great amount of uncertainty casted by all the psychological factors you may be experiencing in the moment leaving a higher margin of error compared to other tests and takes more time too. Grip strenght is faster and easier to measure and if you take more data points (once a week or every other day) it would make the prediction much more valueable and precise, clean from confounding variables

I'm wondering... what if someone has a very strong heart and healthy cardiovascular system, so their heart has a much higher pump volume? Wouldn't they be using more oxygen and therefore burning more fat as calories due to carrying a heavy weight? And wouldn't the activation of 80% (or so) of all the 650 (or so) muscles in their body during, let's say a 90 minute hike have knock-on effect of calorie burning? Are you missing anything from reducing everything down to a caloric calculation based on heart rate?

My friend, I am sorry to say this, but I think your case is too far gone for over the counter remedies. You will need dutasteride and minoxidil, and even then you may not get much change. If it really bothers you, I would recommend to begin saving for a hair transplant. OTC products are for those with very little hair loss, perhaps norwood 2. You are norwood 4, maybe 5, so mild products are going to do nothing of any practical value.
@Klaudiuszeg
@Klaudiuszeg 4 дня назад
You should just take finasteride orally, get minoxidil and boost the antiandrogen action on scalp with alphatradiol Dont fear about finasteride sides, watch haircafe and learn something about bad effects of DHT on our bodies, could convince you it is actually beneficial to reduce it in our bodies, boost both estradiol and testosterone hormones in our bodies which gives another benefits. Your insomnia might be an nocebo effect. Rosemary and peppermint oil could be counter productive in your journey tho, it may irritate your scalp inhibiting the hair growth. If you really want some weak-mild thing that actually works, try castor oil which inhibits some prostoglandins that cause reduced hair growth, caffeine shampoo for hair growth stimulus. Derma pen is not best thing to do, since it could potentially leave scars on your scalp which could prevent hairs from growing there. Adjustable derma stamp would be a lot better, with a length of a needle of about 0.5 mm so you wont get bleed

I forget what I said in the video but I chose the "heavy" resistance and could only turn it 1/8th of a level every 3-5 days, so I started at level 1 and only made it to level 2 or 2.5. The best cardio Regarding fat loss is going to be to be Zone 2 Training , tuning your Back pack weight or vest to get you at the middle or high end of your Zone 2 Heart rate while walking at a comfortable steady pace is what I’ve done to maximize fat loss, for me (at the moment) approximately 30 lbs get me to an average of 125-130 BPM (my Zone2 as per my Apple watch ) for %95 of my 1 hour walks , I also do this with barefoot shoes to strengthen my feet ( I started the barefoot shoe training slowly and not loaded ) and always paying attention to back AND Hip posture, eventually you will tolerate more weight and get stronger feet legs and hip , my pace is 2.5 mile per hour(or 27 min mile) as a slow careful pace that works for me , and I’m Down 10lbs , and will keep going 😎

how can you not include bodyweight in the formula?

Unlike a cycling or rowing test, running already fully incorporates your weight, so if a 60kg person can cover 3km in 12 minutes and a 90kg person can cover 3km in 12 minutes, they will both have the same VO2 max

@n.i.g.e.machine417
@n.i.g.e.machine417 13 дней назад
I think so. Let's say you think you can cover 2,500 in 12 minutes. Set the speed to 12.5km/s and see if you can hold it for 12 mins. 12.5 = 2. 5 km * 5 / . (multipy by 5 to divide by 12 mins). It's a pass/fail to your estimate.
@9to5strength
@9to5strength 6 дней назад
I can't imagine it's very accurate. There's wind resistance from running outside and you'd have to factor in the belt not immediately being at the speed you set on the treadmill. You could probably get within +/- 5 ml/kg/min if all you want is a rough estimate

Great review! Have been wanting Whoop for some time but this decided against it. I have a Garmin Forerunner 255, and I really miss that training load feature, this model doesn’t have that. I’ve had periods of fatigue and have been looking after my HRV. At first I didn’t trust the watch when it told me to take it slow, and ended up with a month off everything, and that really made me sure that the watch actually knows better than I do 😅 I do not trust sleep stages, but I do se at they got better when I stopped coffee at noon rather than at 3PM. I get irritated when the metrics are off, like I returned my Polar watch bc the steps were just insane, always 3000-5000 more than the Fitbit I had before. Every watch has something I like, but I am most happy with Garmin and think I should rather buy a newer version of that instead of Whoop…. I love diving into stats etc, but since I’m located in Norway, the whole thing with return and poor customer service from Whoops kinda scares me, I don’t have time for that.. I think I just rather listen more to their podcast and learn things without having the stats to confirm I guess.

Great review. I have a similar experience, I took advantage of the free month, but did not purchase a further subscription. However, they did not demand the return of the wristband, and to this day I have not saved any new data in the application. But you can connect to external applications and then the wristband is a data source. But it's worth taking for this month, because it opened my eyes to HRV, RHR, the need for sleep, etc. It gives motivation to change habits, this is the greatest value. After half a year, it all came down to buying Polar H10 and monitoring HRV in the free Elite HRV application. If I don't get enough sleep, I eat before bed, I have an injury and a break in physical activity, etc., I won't cheat on this indicator, because it is easier to measure than sleep stages.

does age have anything to do with VO2max??? did not see anything about enter age????
@9to5strength
@9to5strength 6 дней назад
Some estimated VO2 max tests include age, such as the Rockport Walking test (1 mile walk). I'd imagine if they're using heart rate you need to correct for the fact that maximum heart rate declines by age, otherwise if it's a straight physical output like rowing then it's just whatever you're capable of doing and age doesn't come into it.
