so peaceful ๐ซถ๐ผ Iโm thinking of applying to Cambridge, im quite confident ish w my alevels+ im genuinely passionate abt my subject. However, is just that my GCSE grades were a mixtureee (context might help?). But i wanted to ask you if u think its worth the shot or just be on the safer side?
Heya, thanks for watching! I think it's worth a shot :D - mixed GCSE grades won't do much unless you're literally exactly the same as another candidate, and what matters is that they see your capacity to learn! If you have a good Personal Statement and make it to interview, you can use those two things to really let your passion shine! All in all, it's one choice out of 5, and you really never know, so I do think it's worth trying! If your school has a teacher who helps with applications it's worth asking them too, because I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes... It's all very secretive :b
@@Dustyspeccs heyy, thankyou sm for the advice,i think i mightt+ if i do good on the lnat, it could really work in my favour. ๐ค๐ฝ i will let you know next yr if i get an interview ๐ซถ๐ผ๐ซถ๐ผ
Just watched your uni acceptance video (yes, I know Iโm quite late to that one but I just found your channel!) and I actually squealed for you when you got accepted! Congrats, you really deserve it! Hope you enjoy this new academic year :)) I applied for medicine this year but my chances, unfortunately, are quite low as an international student ๐ญ
I know after watching a few of your videos already you have finished first year, but massive congratulations! Loved your reaction and was deserved!! ๐๐. Hope you open your first year exam results on camera ๐. No doubt youโll have done well! ๐
Great video as always, I really enjoyed it! One tiny suggestion, you might want to think about putting subtitles in the parts of your videos where you're whispering as it can be a bit hard to hear you (I have to put my volume all the way up LOL)!
Thank you! On exams or in general? I have an application guide up, but I don't have much knowledge on applications from outside of the UK so it's not super helpful
I just got back from a Cambridge summer school! I briefly visited Corpus Christi, and it is so beautiful! I also went in the University Library and explored some other collegesโฆ. It really seems like such a dream to go there โค
No way!!!! That's so cool what were you up to on the summer school?! Hehe I do love corpus and it is amaze,, what other colleges did you look at?? Also we stan the UL frfr <3
@@DustyspeccsThe summer school was organised by Selwyn College, which is also beautiful. We didnโt manage to visit some of the colleges, as the graduation preparations were happening! However, we did get to see Jesus, Corpus, Trinity, Magdalene and Sidney Sussex!๐ They are all amazing. We had lectures and supervisions on various humanities subjects, toured the area and Sigwick site, ate in the hall, went on a scavenger hunt and had some admissions talks! It was an incredible experience. โค Yes - the library is great ๐
@@gracieb24 woah that's really cool!!! Slewyn is so lovely frfr - insider recc, they do AMAZING brunch on saturdays ;) - haven't been to Magdalene, Sidney, or Trinity tho!!! That's so amazing tho that you got a good look around!!! Glad you enjoyed ehe
It depends if you're a home student or not! In the UK there's a cap on prices, so for home students it's ยฃ9,250 per term, plus then the cost of accommodation :D
Hi! I know this is a late comment, but congratulations! I hope that you are having a wonderful time - you seem like such a lovely person and definitely deserve to study at your dream university. Would it be possible for you to make a video (if you have time in your busy schedule) on tips for applying to the Oxbridge universities and what you did to strengthen your application? Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us!
hey, i received my offer to study classics at cambridge yesterday!! i was just wondering, when you moved in early due to ancient greek classes was it lonely/isolating in any way to move into the college before anyone else? it just sounds quite daunting to me, especially because classics is such a small course, to be one of 2-4 people moving in to an empty college!! do you mind me asking how you found the experience? :)
OH MY GOSH CONGRATS AND WELCOME!!! To be honest I found it alright, at my college lots of second years moved in at the same time, and I met the other Greek student there! Even if it is, the Greek classes are quite full on, so you'll get to know people there! It's fun and means you miss the initial rush of move in day ๐
Congs dear, I am 24 years and I have also applied at Cambridge for the MPhil in Development Studies. My finger are crossed . I usually watch your videos while at work, I usually watch your videos. Much love from Uganda. I also applied at Christ & Jesus colleges.
Love your videos! I'm applying next year after my MSc. Cambridge is absolutely stunning ๐ Hope you have a fantastic time there. You got brilliant results!! ๐
Scotland is the only country in the UK that doesn't do A-level, we have Scottish Highers which is equivalent to an AS level, Advanced Higher is an A-level up here.
Hi my name is Baruch. Iโm an international student keen to study in the UK. I had some queries regarding universities and ucas and thought I could write to you for help however I couldnโt find any of you socials or an email where I could write to you. If you are willing you can provide me your email and I could explain you in detail. Thank you.
Hi, firstly apologies for replying so late was caught up in work. Secondly Iโm so delighted to see your response I wasnโt sure you would reply to be honest nevertheless I am grateful.
As for my request, its a bit long but bear with me. Iโm from Pakistan and done my alevels here. More often than not we apply for universities through an agent in Pakistan and they usually donโt apply through UCAS since they have their own terms with universities. Iโm applying individually on ucas so there is no one whom I know can help me with it since no one applies through ucas.(1/2)
I have written my personal statement, and I made one of my teachers read it however the most he could help me was with the grammar and English since here no one knows how to structure the statement or what to write. If you could review my personal statement I will be grateful.(2/2)
hi, congratulations on your offer! classics at cambridge is my dream and i've just applied this month. i was just wondering for the latin admissions assessment, how did it work online? was it open book, were you monitored through zoom etc? thanks! :)
Hi!!! Good luck!!! For the Latin assessment they sent the paper through and I printed it out, no zoom monitor! We were allowed to use online/physical dictionaries too!!! Hope this helps and good luck again! Xxx
@@caraphillips8829 I really am, I was so worried abt uni but it's not that scary turns out ๐ best of luck, hope to see you next year maybe!!! ๐๐
