When I added rabbits to my beginner urban homestead I knew I wanted to use permaculture practices and have fun!! Several years later we moved to more property and started a flower farm. Join us as we continue to explore raising rabbits and selling flowers. We are glad you can join us!!
These are animals have been part in my life, since I was a child, I continue to stick with them, as much I like the nature, walking under the rain, sun, and wind; naturally, I like outdoors, so much I wish for my rabbits - happy bunnies!
If I use the electric netting, are they able to dig out? I'm glad you posted this. I was trying to figure out a way to raise rabbits without keeping them in cages.
I just wanted to tell you that your videos are so amazing and uplifting especially coming from a farm working background and having family from Nebraska and Missouri, you are awesome girl and keep up the great work! God bless 🥰
From my personal experience, if you wait too long to plant the roots, it will come out of dormancy and die. Let’s hope I’m wrong. Can’t wait to see everything flowering next Spring 😊
Today... New patch of grass seed. Sparrows... Missus puts bird-tape on stakes, and walks away Before she took three paces... LOTS OF SPARROWS! We reckon they think we are telling them "Fresh food here Folks"!
Very interesting! Domestic rabbits that go wild (lots of examples of this around the world. Australia and The Kerguelen Islands are just two examples). And these rabbits do very well (too well in fact). But I suspect there might have been a higher mortality in the beginning, as the rabbits are getting used to their new wild diet. In other words the populations get rid of bad genetics, and the genetics more suitable for a wild diet is past on to the next generations. So perhaps in a colony setting with only wild foods available, the mortally will be higher in the beginning, and then as the rabbits get hardier it will go down? Just a thought.
