Thank you SO SO much. I am willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that this is the exact problem I am having. And like you said it is only on the passenger side ! I will let you know when I get a chance to look at it. Thanks for the video and have a great day.
Im here to let you know my 2000 reg cab short bed does not have that 5x12 removable panel. And my cowl side flappers dont actually cover the whole opening so this video helped me learn its most likely my windshield needing resealed lol
My 2004 Aval leak is under door panel passenger side. it even blew off my sunroof relay on passenger corner panel. I'm guessing is weather striping. I will also check the issues you talked about ! TY.
man, thank you, now i have some direction i get water on both sides of my floor so im hoping its all the same leak, i just took out my seats and console and carpet cus mold was starting, im ready to get my truck sealed up so i can start enjoying it again cus i love riding in the rain and parking by some water and storm watching.
Had to do exactly the same thing on a 96 Cadillac Fleetwood. Now, if I could just figure out where the leak is on the driver’s side. There’s a rust streak just forward of the fuse panel and the carpet is damp. Hoping I just missed some debris in the cowl drain but I sealed the crap out of the plastic cowl so I need to figure out how to get at them from below.
My 03 avalanche was leaking the same way when I looked in the floor after dumping a bucket of water from the top windshield I found there is a golf ball size hole where the emergency brake cable goes the boot had a kink and water was just pouring in
this is a great video for the people that can't get their wiper arms off you can take the Torx screw out and remove the two clips closest to the cover and are able to pick up shroud enough to clean with alcohol then put on rubber glove and smear silicone with hand
Definitely doing this today. I've already gone thru 3 or 4 resistors. I noticed water dripping straight from the connector on the resistor. Blew my mind on what it could be.
Thanks for the info. I had the same issue on my 05 Trailblazer but was a pinched sunroof drain. Just bought a 03 GMC 2500HD (no sunroof) and blower motor and resistor were no good. Then notice water after rain, assuming this is the issue.
Yes! Thank you for this video. Found multiple leaks in my 08 Sierra once I started looking but was still having front firewall water intrusion. This was a great place to get started tackling that. Thank you for taking the time to make a video. This was fantastic.
My 04 avalanche just started leaking and looking up the blower motor hole while it was raining, the cap there did indeed have a drop of water on one of the plastic tangs on the lid and wetness around the outer edge. Gonna try this today and see if it stops. Appreciate the tip.
Awesome that helps , though my passenger side does get wet , the driver side gets soaked carpet when it rains etc … any thing other than the drain on that side to address?
This holds true, my 05 Silverado was same. Before sealing the cap looked fine, looked like paint was sealed but it was not. it was filling the blower fan full of water lol Some silicone and flex tape to cover it and it's now fixed. I flashed it with rubber flex tape "like a 7x13 piece" up under windshield a bit so when it's parked the water just runs over entire plastic cap completely.
