Shouldn’t you be taping the left bar counter clockwise? To allow the tape to tighten with use instead of loosen?

What is the best way to measure the holes for those 2x4? I want to do the same thing but make a ladder rack.
@johnkarrasch7758
@johnkarrasch7758 7 месяцев назад
I kept a reference sheet for where the holes where vs other landmarks inside the van...that way once covered up I could know where to drill or cut.

the way i approach bar height is how it helps me position my body , i have this challenge on weighting my front wheel for corners , and having lower bar height and longer stem helps with that.
@johnkarrasch7758

John - These videos have been EXTREMELY helpful as I've set up my own mobile bike repair shop. Thank you for creating and posting them! One question - with the LED light system, how long are you able to run these on the battery power from under the seat? I'm afraid of keeping them on too long at a job site and having a dead battery when it's time to head home.
@johnkarrasch7758
@johnkarrasch7758 Год назад
Multiple hours. Very low power draw and Transits have two batteries anyway.

@@johnkarrasch7758 Honestly, I’m thinking about putting my road bars back on ,the overall geometry just makes the bike weird ,I love to ride aggressive and I can’t really do so because now the seat is too high ,so if I try to get an aero position, my whole body just feels awkward and out of place .. for commuting casual ride oh heck yeah ! but I have to come to terms it’s just not Me.😉🚴

I have those on 3 bikes, one with SRAM levers like you have. I typically align the levers with the angle of the drop section for appearances (which results in a slight inward tilt on most dirt drops) and it has been fine on my other bikes. On this one, the hoods felt like they were a little more squared off and less comfortable until I rotated the levers facing more forward. Just curious if you experienced that as well.

I keep trying drops, but I just can't get on with them. I have 3 with drops and 4 flat bar and the flat bars are preferred even though the drop bar bikes are seven fold the build quality. Which led me here. I'm going to throw a flat bar on my ride bike and see..

Wow,this is one of the best Explanations I’ve ever seen on bar height well done! I’m still very confused about this though ever since I got my bike about a month ago. The two problems I’m facing are wrist and hand fatigue and then a weird sensation when standing and climbing that I can’t figure out. The bike came with the stem at the top of three spacers now I’m wondering if I need to try and lower it?

Between 600 to 720mm for har width feels good. You can go bigger but I personally think anyone for the most part will find 600 to 720 comfortable. I have converted 3 of my road bikes to flat bar bikes. So comfortable especially for long trips and easy on your back.

Nice bike, John. I did the same thing to my 20-year old Cannondale XS800 cross bike. I never really liked drop bars. When I replaced the outdated "narrow" Ti bar on my old mountain bike with something wider and more modern, I slapped it onto my crossbike and it's been fantastic. Bar-ends offer extra hand positions and help with climbing, so I'm a happy bunny. In fact, drop bars are one of the things that put me off of considering a newer, more modern gravel bike. I'd have to bin the integrated road shifters and brakes for a start! I guess I'll stick to the crosser. It's shame it can't run discs. But the Magura hydraulic cantilever brakes blow regular rim brakes away, so I'm not too fussed. Live long and keep pedalling!
