My dream is to one day own a sailboat.. I live on Ray Hubbard and I always look out at the sailboats with such envy . Thanks for putting out the vid looks like yall have a relaxing sunset sail. 🙂
This elevator was much lighter than the original. Though I did not weigh them to compare, my priority was strength and then weight. I built my elevator in two pieces because the previous owner had cut the elevator spar off center to make the airplane unflyable. that is why I decided to build a new elevator and a friend of mine suggested the new construction method as seen in this video.
Thanks for the advice. I did a complete annual on the airplane in July and found few discrepancies. I will look into a second fuel source since I already have two electric pumps available. I checked the lines that connect to the fuel pump and I have those on a 25 hour inspection schedule. I have a similar setup on my sailboat's engine.
Very nice looking plane - I'm sure it will provide many hours of great flying. Just a note to pass on some info. I built two MM's First was the little 1100, the Second was an EROS 1650R (great plane). I put about 760hrs on my EROS and flew it for 13 years. Had to retire it because of problems with wood rot, and no place to work, etc. That's always a problem. Highly suggest. First, I see that you do not have a dual ignition system - can be a problem. Hope you have an electronic ignition, because I think the engine might have to be pulled to set the points, etc. (if it has points.) Without question, you need a Fuel Pressure gauge (0-15 psi). It will only show 3-5 when operating. Can get the gauge in, like, Auto Zone, etc. for about 12 or 15 bucks. Run a short fuel line from near the carb (with a "T"). When the gauge shows pressure, you can rest assured your engine will continue running. Once the engine driven pneumatic pump fails (had 2 fail) you have about 2 minutes before the carb bowl goes dry. Finally. Also, without question. Run a SECOND (in parallel ) fuel system with the first one. If the first one quits (no pressure on the gauge) you turn on the 2nd system and continue to fly. You would need a 12vdc pump (auto zone 30 bucks) and some additional tubing. Oh, by the way, I would NOT use any of the blue or clear fuel lines. They WILL break, after awhile, even if they are not in the sun. They break when they connect. Use cheap Gates (or similar) auto fuel hose (regular hose, not electric fuel pump). Runs about a buck a foot. Great tubing, with a thick wall and will last FOREVER. If you would need a diagram of the 2nd fuel system, contact me and I'll send you a diagram of what I used. Great plane you have - but "stuff" happens in flight - try to prevent it. N-6395T
I had just bought the boat...wanted to take it out for a short ride. We only had a jib and no main sail...the captain went to loosen the jib to demonstrate it and a gust of wind took it and unfurled it and jammed the mechanism...I ended up crawling to the deck to collapse the sail and tie it off so that we could return to port...what a day...
This landing is at the Mesquite airport landing from South to North...the flight takes you over the are just east of the Mesquite High School...glad you enjoyed

Dallas's skyline would be 100x's better if there were a tall Neon blue skyscraper, a tall Neon red skyscraper, andd a very, very tall skyscraper with I pyramid and sphere on the top right in the center of downtown. Am I right ?
