Thanks. Gonna do this on my new to me 2019 6.7L for the first time tomorrow. I've done plenty on my old 7.3L though. One thing everyone seems to do is to remove the fill cap before draining. All that will do is to make the initial flow stronger and make it shoot out further. If you can grab a helper for a sec, leave the cap on and let it drain a bit before having them remove the cap. Less chance of a mess that way. You can try and do it this way yourself, but then you aren't under the truck ready to move the drain pan if need be.
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yeah, the 7.3 was an easy oil change. I still have one of these old beauties... So, for the 6.7 I found this product called ValvoMax, it's this oil drain system that I'm going to install the next time I do an oil change. It's got this quick twist method where you add this adapter and then a drain hose, less mess. The oil comes out a bit slower, but it should help with the mess. Looks like a good product, do a quick search for one. I'll do a review about it eventually, but it seems like people like it. Thanks again for watching!
When are you going to do a video on tightening the parking brake. By the way watch all your videos love them. I have a 2019 limited edition RMAX-2 1000
Thanks for the suggestion, honestly, I haven't thought about this, since mine is still working pretty well, but once it starts getting weak or weird, I'll for sure make a video about it. Thank you for watching my content and I REALLY appreciate the kinds words! I wish I had more time to make videos... I'm going to try to crank a few out still this month, hope you check them out!
HAHA! Yeah, it ain't easy. I have to do another oil change before I head down to Hatfield next month... It's a pain to do, but now that I've done it a few times it's not terrible. I'm sure for the 4 seater it's a bit more difficult. You'd think that if they made it SUPER easy to do, that more people would do their own maintenance and get to know their machine a bit more. But you're right, it's a cash grab to get the dealers to do the service, then the problem with that, is, not all dealers have good techs, so who knows if they are going to perform things correctly... I have to say, on my other machine (a KRX) it's actually VERY easy to do an oil change, except for the oil slopping on the skid plate, but that was more of my fault. Thanks again for watching and commenting, I appreciate it.
Howdy. Appreciate your knowledge.... have a 1991 Suzuki DD51B 4WD. I can not get a definitive answer to the fluid capacities. Trans/Transfer and 2 differentials. As it currently is on jack stands with no wheels I don't want to rely on overflow as a guide as it isn't dead level. Would you know a source? Thanks in advance either way
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it greatly. I don't have any source, but you might want to try some of the Facebook mini truck groups, I'm sure there is someone on there that could give you 100% accurate fluid levels. Having said that, if things are close to being level, just fill it and send it, I'm sure it'll be fine. It would be one thing if you think you were going to overfill it by, say, 30%... OR you could always fill now and then once your back on level ground, crawl under and open up the fill plugs to see how much comes out. Make sure you do that when it's cold of course. Good luck my friend.
Thank you for the very helpful video. I appreciate the wisdom of removing the tire AND the access panel. It made replacing the battery cables much, much easier, especially with the tight quarters with the V6 engine!
I appreciate the effort for making a video, but you seriously should consider talking for the next one. My mind reader is on the fritz, so I am just as clueless if it's any good leaving as I was when I arrived!
@@BarnStangz just a suggestion if you guys have any ambition of the RU-vid gig being taken seriously. A video creator that doesn't talk will always get less views than one that does, regardless of the quality content. I can't help but wonder, is your son under age and that's why you appear to be moderating his channel? If so perhaps the two of you could combine resources and he does the recording and you could play commentator in post during the editing phase. Again just a suggestion. Good luck to you both!
@@DemonSeedXP Appreciate the comments, yeah, he is 15. He has been on the channel before when we do projects together. With this one, he just did it on his own. Hopefully we'll find some time to crank out more content. Thanks again for watching.
I watch your vids lol, even sub'd and I only have my RMAX2 SE 3 months heheheh (same as yours by the way, the green 2021 model, new from dealer, stood there 3 years un-sold. Not a big market here in Belgium lol) Anyway good tip, too bad your aff link does not work for my location
😊appreciate you trying to use the affiliate link, it's all good, even if it doesn't work. Amazon doesn't pay that much... Glad you liked the video and I'm happy to hear that you are an RMAX owner as well, they are great machines! I'm looking forward to getting out and doing some more riding, I just need to find the time. Thank you again for watching and have fun with your machine!
How did you wire it to the house? I installed one not too long ago using 12/2 romex to a 3 prong male ac plug and plugged it to an outdoor gfci outlet, but it keeps tripping.
Interesting that it keeps tripping... I wired it basically the same way, but not with a GFCI, I wonder if you tried a non-gfci how that would work out, or is it tripping at the breaker?
@@BarnStangz I ran an extension to a non-GFCI and it works fine; it doesn't trip at the breaker either. It only trips the GFCI. Funny thing though, other loads on the GFCI (I tried a hair dryer and a drill) don't trip. I'm contemplating whether I should replace that GFCI outlet with a standard? Not sure if that's the root cause.
@@louvang4122 I think it might be the cause, I'd probably get rid of that outlet. If you plug stuff in and it doesn't blow a fuse or trip a breaker, I bet you're golden. Thanks for watching and good luck with your lights and all that. Appreciate it.
Thanks for watching. I don't see why not. Just make sure that when the key of out, the 12v going to the cig is dead. You don't want any voltage there or else it'll kill your battery over time.
LOL, thanks for watching! I think it's a combination of the pads and the fact that some more lube is needed on the pins. I didn't add any lubricant since I don't want dust to stick, so I just deal with it. Other than the noise, I like the brakes, they are good and strong!
@@dogger99 Yeah man, I forget what I paid, but it was a lot. It made a HUGE difference in the way the machine shifts, so I recommend it for sure. Plus, it'll last a long time, at least 10 years, depending on how much you drive and all that.
What if I want to wire up multiple switches could you draw a diagram on how to wire them together? Or do I need to run separate wires to the buss bar for each switch
Best practice in this application would be to run separate wires for each switch, but you could just jump the "hot" if you wanted to. But, then if you had a problem somewhere in the line of switches, it might take them all off, so that is why I like to do individual runs. Thank you so much for watching.
Yeah, that is WAY too much! Once you change the oil a few times, you'll see it isn't that bad of a job. I know the 4 seater is a bit more tricky, but I'm a big believer in trying to do your own maintenance, that way you know it's done properly. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
Anytime I’ve ever rented a mini excavator they always have either bobcat or yanmar funny you say always kubota! Those suckers cost an arm and a leg more then any other machine though I’ll tell you that much😂
I feel like the rental places by me are either Kubota or IHI. Both good machines, same as what you've mentioned. I've got a buddy that has some high hour Kubota's and they just keep going and going and going. It's all about maintenance these days... I'd like to re-visit this video and update it a bit more. I might do that this summer. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks for watching and commenting! So, they are both REALLY good machines on the trails, but a few take-aways for me. The KRX is slower and not as nimble, but feels like it would climb anything. The KRX has better suspension, it's more supple and has more travel. The RMAX is quick feeling in the woods, "point and shoot" feeling. And the engine loves to be hammered! They are both really good machines and I'll probably talk more about them in another video. I'll have to talk about my trailer setup in another video as well. I have a 24ft open deck trailer. It works well and I just pull it with our F250. It does great. Hatfield is a wonderful place, I highly recommend taking a trip out there! Thanks again for watching!
@@BarnStangz That’s about what i thought how the KRX would be. I know some guys that have them and love them, especially the taller guys rave about them. I don’t have that problem and fit in my Rmax just fine. 😂. Can’t wait to see the videos. Keep em coming.
@@markflaugh2293 Thanks a lot. Yeah, some people hate on the KRX, I don't know why, it's a good machine. I'm glad I have both. They are both different and good. The KRX is for sure better for big dudes, my one buddy is 6'4" and he'll fit in it just fine.
Thanks for watching and commenting, yeah, the specs are far too high, 11k sounds about right. So, the fist one I've installed seems to be doing okay, I guess we'll see how long they last. I feel like these cheap Chinese LEDs have come a long way. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
Thank you my friend! I've been building a clubhouse for my kids. My father and I made the staircase from scratch. It was one hell of a cool welding project. I wish I made a video about it...
I know this is an older video but what gauge wire for connecting to battery and what gauge wire for going to the fuse box? Also I know where the red power line goes on the switch for my light bar but where do I wire the black negative? Thank you
Drinking a beer eating pizza using the pc to look up the how To's in the shed/garage. All men need their man cave. Having an awesome UTV to work on now that's living. Sounds like a fun time to me. There's not that many RMAX owners posting there videos online. There has to be a lot of owners these buggy's look very capable in their stock form. From my research on the different types of sport UTV's the RMAX looks to be the best. There are a lot of reviews after you've seen one talking about all the features you really need a owners review to get a sense what you're spending 20k. My local dealership will let me drive the Buggy around the parking lot and some of the dirt roads nearby. I told them bring a ranger xp 1000, the general xp 1000 and this rmax 2 out to my property you all can ride have a blast. I'll drive each one of them by the end of the day I'll know exactly which machine I want to buy. Guess that is beyond their abilities. I told them I got a go pro and autonomous drones send these units out I'll review them for your dealership with a farmer's perspective. Have your mechanics tell me about the break in period. I can follow the guidelines. It's an untapped market. Every farmer needs an ATV or side by side we just work hard for our money and have learned to make do with what we got. Most of us buy used cheaper models that get the job done. We got phones and internet access, so we've got an eye on the best UTV's/ATVS, but we'd rather spend the money on something farm related. Doesn't mean we are cheap with no money to spend on a new side by side. It just means we don't want some snake oil and fancy words trying to convince us to buy one. Listening to those guys talk makes me want to punch them in the mouth. When I'm ready to buy I don't need convincing. If we got a buddy or neighbor that farms with a new side by side, we'll ask about that get his or her opinion drive it and if we like most of the time we drive to town and buy one. In my opinion dealerships should find a way to work with landowners to showcase the models that are currently in the market. As a farmer I've been raised to treat equipment with respect cause I'm the one fixing it, so we drive ATVs/UTVS at a controlled pace knowing its limits not pushing those. My ATV is 5 years old starts like a new one I've had it in the mud, rain, snow to Colorado 3x. What breaks I fix nothing major great machine. Every friend that I've got that is a farmer who owns a side by side or ATV they don't rip around on it full on every time to see how fast it can go or if it's a good rock climber. What we care about is it reliable, can it mud and get me to my pivots, how's the ride quality, is it simple for maintenance, are the parts expensive? is there aftermarket support to modify to make it better. What is the customer support like at the dealership and company? How's the warranty? I wouldn't dare take my pickup to check a pivot, but I'll take my ATV. We use it as an extension of ourselves to maximize the efficiency of our operation. The only thing else to get you to a pivot is a tractor that's 4wd the ruts left are huge, so we drive our ATV's and Side by sides. Every time I get a smile on my face it's fun to rip it. Worse thing about mudding is the power washing afterwards. Maybe I'll get smart and use my drones to observe the pivots. I got land to be used for UTV/ATV riding because I ride ATVS all over it. Made my own trail system here along the river and all across all pasture property's that is actually a fun ride. They want me to spend 20k+ on one of these machines I'm going to need a push in that direction. I want reviews from owners that drive these buggies.
Thank you so very much for the comments! I agree with you 1000% on everything, reviews from REAL people are worth more than anything else. I too live in farm country (and thank you by the way for being a farmer) and I make sure to tell all of my farm friends what works and what doesn't. This RMAX has been one hell of a great machine. I don't think I'd want to use it day in and day out on a farm, but it could do it. This machine is VERY capable and has been clawhammer reliable. I haven't had to fix anything on it, just basic maintenance. Most of the Japanese machines are like that. They just keep going, unless your abusing the machine. Even the best more rugged stuff can break with a jackass behind the wheel. Soon, I'll be making a video about the RMAX, long term, since I'v e had it for almost 4 years now compared to a Kawasaki KRX that we acquired about 5 months ago. I'm going to talk about maintenance and other things, so I encourage you to subscribe for that. Again, thank you for watching and commenting!
No problem 👍 Thank you so much for watching. I replied to your other comment as well. These are great "do-all" machines for sure! The RMAX is more sporty than utility, but you can still do plenty of farm work / chores with it.
Would anyone know about the 130 ? Smaller but I have a chance to buy one. The guy wants 450 runs like a dream - I wouldn’t want to pay more then 300 for it. Advise ?
Thanks for watching. I'd say if it runs well and was taken care of, just buy it. These things come in handy and if maintained will last many lifetimes. You never know when you'll need a gas powered welder.
Great video! I agree with your comment regarding the frequency of oil changes - just do it! And certainly, the Blackstone oil analysis will show how well the engine is wearing but like you said, oil is cheap compared to a replacement 6.7 motor!!! The valve cover lock on oil funnel is definitely a pro tip as well!!! Overall, straight forward and easy! Haven't seen too many 6.7 in that color but the way it looks on video - the color really pops! Please do a video on how your Tremor does off road! 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for commenting and all the kind words! I haven't had this truck off road too much, one when I go riding I'll take it on old logging roads and stuff. It does just fine, but you can feel how heavy it is. Esp, with that giant ass 6.7 under the hood. The color is Velocity Blue and it is bright for sure, I didn't know how much I liked it at first, I mean, I liked it, but didn't know if I would get tired of it and it's honestly grown on me a lot and it seems to turn a lot of heads (not that I care about that) and people always seem to like it. Thanks again for watching, I appreciate it, greatly.
Installed 2 like this 1 worked amazing the other not so much that photo cell is super sensitive the slightest ambient light was causing it cycle on and off
Thanks for sharing about that! This thing has worked REALLY well, I'd reach out to the mfg. and tell them what is going on with your light and I bet they'll replace it for you. I appreciate you watching, thank you!
I'm thinking about doing the same thing to mine but I don't know how to make that wiring longer and also thinking about making mine come on with the low beam instead of hi beam. Maybe you can do a video showing that way.
Thanks for watching! Making the cable longer wouldn't be too hard, you could source everything off ebay. As far as the light coming on with the low beam, you'd just have to find the low beam wire and plug into that, it should work just find. I've been happy with the light, it makes a pretty big difference actually. Thanks again for watching!
I just changed the oil in my 91 suzuki carry db51t for the first time, and after driving fine for a few minutes it now won't start. Any way it could be from my oil change job? I used the same oil as you and a 1394 filter.
Sorry I took so long to comment! I find it highly unlikely. Do you have a good battery? Is it full charged? Does the engine crank over at all? I need a bit more information to try and help you. Let me know! Thanks!
Just mounted my kemimoto bag just like this one . Get a piece of 1/2" conduit. Measure the width of your bars + allow for 3-4" bow upward. Flatten end with heavy hammer. Allow approx. 1" past center of roll bar on each side. screw down with low profile self tapping screw 9" from the front crossbar. Paint it black and install. It does involve roof removal. But does get the bag tucked up in the roof better out of the way and improves your sight line out the front.
That is a SWEET idea! Thank you so much for sharing! I may have to do this, luckily everything is still looking okay for the most part and it isn't hanging down, yet. Over all, it's a pretty good bag. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it.
