We are located in McDowell, VA. Our focus is our family, God, and growing our homestead to something we can truly be proud of. We are a family of five. Andrew is an Army veteran and a nurse at a local nursing home and Courtney is a stay-at-home mom. This channel will capture our lives as homesteaders, homeschoolers, navigating two of our children's disabilities and all that comes with that, and life with a toddler. On our homestead, we currently have sheep, goats, and chickens. We have lots of exciting plans to expand over the next years and would love for you to join us on our journey. Please come alongside us and share in the joy and excitement of having a homestead.
I keep a Winter Hat and a spare pair of socks in my bag. I also keep protein bars and I'm gonna keep 5 Hour Energy shots in it too. I keep two packs of Dude Wipes too.
Ive got a small tilt bed snowmobile trailer with plywood deck I use for everything. I use used motor oil on it and ill probably do it once a year or every other. To see how long it can last.
I do the same on trailer decks and fences. I use a weed sprayer and spray it though. I don't like the dust it collects at first.. but a wash or rain storm typically gets rid of it. That tailgate is not the problem for you bad mileage. Its mesh, the air flows through it. Towing a 2,000 lb trailer is the difference in your mileage.
Those boards will leach oil residue for years, especially on hot days. You'll be gettin it all over the bottom of your shoes every time you walked on it. Might even put you on yerass when it gets wet. If it were me, I'd use a high traffic deck sealer applied with a cheap little pump sprayer. However, at the end of the day, it's your trailer.
@illiniwood I could see that if these boards were new and smooth but these are so old and rough its practically a slip resistant coating with just how rough that are.
So I spilled diesel in my trailer a week ago and it still reeks of diesel. Not sure I'd want to intentionally spray diesel on my trailer. Used oil id give that a shot but I'm not sure what the diesel would add.
Not a hack...grew up on a farm in rural Florida, it works like a charm. We even used to soak our fence posts in oil and diesel for a few days. Makes it water proof and bug resistant
@@HiddenSpringsHomestead2021 I guessed roughly that and put 4 gallons on my boards in the heat yesterday. Going to hit it again today and call it macaroni. Thanks
I want one , but gonna wait until about this time next year, I looked at the yanmar 235 but it’s really too big for what I need, plus right more expensive
I would have considered tym more if we had a dealer closer. I really like the rear remotes being standard. I will put out a 50 hour review video but I don't have many gripes so far.
We choose not to vaccinate and have a very hands off approach and we have consulted with other shephards with more experience in our area. We are striving for as natural of a flock as possible.
Banding is a form of neutering livestock. They wrap the green rubber band around the testes of that lamb, where the band wraps around so tightly it slowly cuts off the blood supply, causing the balls to shrivel up and fall off on their own.
@lillieball7662 From what I gathered, it does cause initial discomfort and swelling. However, it doesn't last long. It is advised to give anti-inflammatories to reduce pain
They are boer goats but I believe they may have some kiko. The breeder we got them from is super hands on and gives them treats of animal crackers which they love. They follow me around whenever I am near the fence or in the pasture. Occasionally they jump up like dogs as you can see in the video. The breeder told me she had 24 nannies expecting back in January so more should be weaning soon. Some of the most beautiful colors I've seen in goats!
