Couldnt agree more buddy number 3 duke is a great trap for a new to traps trapper priced right and easy to set up to make it even better and easier to set then anything out there.

I carry all my trapping stuff in a 5 gallon bucket. The best thing I did was wrap camo duck tape on the handle. Thanks Todd.

Had to give up trapping but never turned anybody away to trap. One year one of the kids cat got trapped a a leg hold but set free. Guy told me about it and the cat limbed for a day or so. Wasnt his fault. Prices havent be good since i stopped in the 80's and i quit. Passed on my traps to a buddies kid that the ground to trap. Smaller gap should hold them toe catches alot better on raccoon good idea! i might get a dozen of each now instead of 2 dozen closed jaw

Nice machine guess it all depends on where your trapping me personally I prefer my quad a lot narrower for maneuvering in tighter areas

I have been using my 2018 polaris Ranger 900xp for trapping along the atv trails here in northern Wisconsin. I also use it for plowing snow off my driveway and a little trail riding with the wife. I love the Ranger for trapping. The bench seat makes it very easy getting in and out. The box is plenty big enough for all my gear for trapping and plus more. It also helps from beating up my pickup.

I just bought one of these reels from Amazon. The model 2500. Haven't used it yet, but it seems like an awesome reel. However, I noticed that you have to take the rotor off in order to access one of the screws for the side plate. Seems a little annoying. I was thinking of returning the reel, and getting another daiwa model like a legalis or revros. With those other models, you can access the side plate without removing the rotor.

I trapped back 40 + years ago with maybe a dozen mixed traps. My first fox was caught in a 1 1/2 long spring. I bought a bunch of these thinking to use them for coon,fox & coyotes.Would these work if i used a drag or an inline spring instead of staking for coon ,fox & coyote ?

Coal shale works alot better then peatmoss. Sheds water and is oderless, works in -30 iowa winters.

One thing to note is that Shimano will never have anything within Daiwas budget friendly zone. That could compete on this level, I’m a heavy Daiwa and Shimano user. So I love them both but in terms of price point and versatility, Daiwa takes the win by far.
