I sometimes daydream that if they ever make terminator style inorganic time transfer I would want to have projector with the film reels for At least fellowship of the ring to be transfered to the 50s and have a reaction from Tolkien himself.
Always thought about how any other portrayal would've been... Have a hard time imagining someone doing a better job than Viggo, i could see a universe where even Ian or Elijah was replaced but something about Aragorn that was perfect in every single way.
“This was such a fascinating watch! Viggo Mortensen’s insights into Tolkien’s world and his experiences filming LOTR are truly captivating. It’s amazing to hear how much passion and dedication went into bringing these iconic characters to life. Thanks for sharing this, MrDwarfBangityBang! 🌟”
I can’t picture anyone else playing Aragorn. The casting for the entire movie was perfection. He was absolutely right about America’s involvement in the Middle East. Everyone should read War is a Racket by General Smedley Butler.
It is amazing how many movies the first, second, third choice fall through or the actor gets replaced after the filming starts and it turns out to be the master stroke. Stuart Townsend is a good actor but he just didn't fit the role.
Good for Viggo speaking out. This is so far in the future now, but the truth is people get frightened when you question the narrative. If anyone wants to do great in the world, take note! : )
This bloke is an artist. I doubt that he will ever encapsulate an 'Aragorn' role again, but he will always be admired for it. "Let's make an honest effort to get it right,". He said a gobful!
Why the hell was this scene cut from film sure it wouldn’t save movie it would been see luke morning, his best friend Han versus the scene that they cut out and not Luke drinking milk from a Dr. Seuss reject
People be like "Why was this cut" But Luke thru all the ages has witnessed a lot a friends dying, like Biggs. If anything this should have been Luke reaction to being told that his failed student and his friends just recently blew up the entire new galactic republic.
I'm not sure why these 17 seconds were cut. Now I'm afraid I hate Disney even more. Not only was it not written. No. It's not like there are important things they forgot about. It WAS written and even acted out. It was deliberately left out. Man. That crushes me.
I've been a life long fan of Tolkien's books. I knew of Viggo from Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and that was all I knew of him, but when I saw him as Aragorn in TLOTR, I thought, "This guy could sell a pair of shoes to a legless beggar." A brilliant actor. I can't read the books now without seeing his visage with that character.
Viggo is Aragorn...all the way! I feel this movie was perfectly cast in every way! I love all three films as well and I would have to say part 1 is my favorite also; but I would not want to pick one at all. These are excellent films and my all time favorite High Fantasy Trilogy!
With every cut scene I see, I appreciate more how much effort the makers put into paying attention to every single detail and cutting out any scene that would have made the film better.
That guy insisting about the iraq issue obviously is pro bombing innocent people. And I remember him being accused of sexual assault so yikes. I wonder if the reason why Viggo hasn't gotten an oscar yet is because of his political stance. He should have gotten an oscar a long time ago.
That's a great take that the first movie (extended) is his favorite due to having the most acting and storyline of the trilogy. I have to say I agree with that. TTT and ROTK are just battle after battle after battle it felt like. But all three each have wonderful scenes of course.
They were brothers Han and Lea were married so technically Luke was his brother-in-law but it is also a lot more between these two as both saved a Princess one found a sister he did not know he had while the other fell in love with a Princess. All three saved their universe and as we know Luke is the sum of them he became a priestly Jedi master and later gave his life to save his nephew and another to reunite with Han and Lea in the Forse a trinity of the Forse. May The Forse Be With Them. It's Luke remembering his first meeting with his friend perhaps that day was the same day they first met an anniversary of happiness and sadness for his family including Old Ben and Yoda. He may be strong in the Forse but he regrets not saying goodbye properly. Tears Of The Forse.
