I’m curious to know if this is just as good for regular trimming and not just heavy brush. I’m sure it can handle heavy vegetation and brush very well but how about regular trimming work. I know it’s heavier than a lot of regular trimmers but weight aside.
Just bought one of these yesterday. So far, i really like it. Main thing ive noticed in the first day of having it is its definitely a lit more powerful than my last trimmer, and the fuel efficiency is just awesome. I ran the trimmer around my moms property which is roughly an acre. I also trimmed around her home, porches, and carport then hit a few spots that i couldn't get to woth the mower. Afterwards, when i came home, i ran it around my home and my yard and all on one tank of fuel. My old trimmer would've gone thru 3-4 tanks of fuel doing the same work.
Do you recommend this version for private use or the 522iHDR? My hedge has lots of thicker branches - the 522iHDR is especially for that use case but much more expensive and recommended for professional use. Thanks in advance!
If I have to stand or sit and watch this like $20k ish mower work, cuz I don't trust it...I might as well just do it myself and take pride in my work...
I love all still product but for trimmers even know I got a km131r with trimmer and edger attachment but for trimmers my go to is my favorite a shindaiwa M262 with trimmer and edger attachment
Thanks for pointing out the differences. I bought the 91. Why? The straight steel shaft is going to last. The 4mix engine has been around a while. I think if you pay attention to the signs that the valves need adjusting you’ll be fine. I have noticed that the 4 mix isn’t a super screaming fast engine. But, it does use less fuel and you never see any smoke. Super quiet. Great video.
I went from a 25 year old electric craftsman weed eater that i got for $5 20 years ago to a FS 56 RCE this week. Imagine my surprise when it cut 30 minutes off my actual yard work time and my edges have never looked better. I would tell someone to set their strap up to where your shoulders are holding the machine and your arms are just moving it, then it's like butter.
@@bobclapper2672Gl man. I bought a fs131 a months ago and it’s got no more than 3 hours on it. It’s already at the shopped cuz it seized up. Hoping they can fix it cuz they r impossible to find in CA And they r $560
I bought a brand new FS 91R one month ago, have used it twice and both times it does nothing but break the string off in the head. I replaced it with an Echo Speed Feed...works great! Stihl needs to run their products before they put them in production! Shame on Stihl
I have the FS 40 C and it works well. However, the auto feed does not work. I'm always stuck having to open the head and pull the string out and rewind it like you show. The problem that seems to cause this is that the string fuses together inside the head as if there was too high a temperature inside the head when the trimmer is operated. Is there something wrong with the trimmer or is the string that I use of poor quality? (PS: I use 0.080" trimmer line Super Trim made by Desert Extrusion.)
How old is your trimmer line? I really do like a lot of the desert extrusion stuff but I have found that some of their .080 does not hold up as well and will melt together.
Sounds good. The original line set up was garbage. I’m so frustrated with the new and improved????, model. I had my last sthil for ten years and never a problem rewinding a new spool. In fact I always had three or four spools wound and waiting. My trimming detail always took two and I was always prepared. Unless I’m a complete idiot I hate the new improved sthil. I’m ready to give the pos away and buy a better machine. What a mess!! .
I think once you get the proper line in that head and get a little bit better grasp of how it functions you will be happy. If not, you could go back to the old school auto cut 5-2 that if you’ve been running a curve chef Stihl is exactly what you’re used to.
@@carlsmowerandsaw Thanks Carl. My last sthil was a beast for many, many years. It started just as easy on its last year as it did in the first year. That’s why I invested in a new one. Unfortunately, my rental home burned to the ground on May 22, 2024. I lost everything but the clothes on my back and , unbelievably, I had two cents in my pocket. I’m fine but I lost so many treasures in the inferno. I did go to my new owners manual and there was a pamphlet on how to rewind on my AutoCut C 6 2. I did rewind. It was a breeze. Getting ready for this machine do it’s job. Thank you for putting out this video and thanks even more for your kind response. God Bless You!
Why my head has the .095 and the .105 on the same part of spool, so I can’t wind both ends in at same time because they are on opposite sides. The starting point for .095 is on one side of spool for top and the bottom lower line is on the opposite side of spool starting point? Is this normal?
You are correct the .09 5.105 or side-by-side but I have found it with .095 wine I can’t put them both right beside each other and it loads up fine if you go smaller than that 080 it’s a bit more challenging
Thank you for the video. I am looking at this seriously. One question. Will the 48" deck fit on a 50" trailer? I do not want to have to buy a new trailer too.
had stihl before they didnt cover carbs on my weed wacker blower or chainsaw said sorry not covering warranty found out from 3 different dealers they all said they changed to using a cheaper carb and are not covering warranty and all 3 dealers are telling people dont buy stihl anymore they said buy a echo husky or redmax
I recently purchased Fs131r about 3 weeks ago. I’ve only got about an hour or 2 of run time on it and it’s not consistently idling. There’s moments where it idles for probably about a minute and dies and there’s times where I get it running and it drops off at about 5 seconds of idling. It’s also not starting easily. The pull is smooth as it was when I purchased it but it’s not starting right away. Any reason this may be happening?
The idol could be set just a tad low That would be the LA screw try turning that in a quarter to half a turn and see if that changes anything And then maybe just be safe. Make sure you got the freshest gas and give that a try.
you received the Honda lawnmowers from the recall after they repaired them you are stupid you were deceived they are not repaired at all in fact they are damaged inside and the camshaft does not work correctly because they do not coincide with their external parts
