@@JessePerryArt True, Montana Gold is it for me. In combination with the level 1 and the macclaim cap. I think the white dot is still pretty rough. Nice work by the way man.
Thats excellent! Happy to hear it. Always makes me smile when I realize I still get super exciting about the same thing I've been doing for the past 11 years!
Damn, this is fucking stunning! What a BIG ASS WALL i love these gigantic pieces you do, and it's really fun to watch you in the zone. Seeing a new vid is always like "wake up babe, Jesse's gloriousifying Phoenix some more!"
Heyo! Thanks so much. I love getting to go big and bring as much color as possible. Especially when it's in public. And don't worry... you're already awake. Go make something beautiful today:)
Exactly what kind of paint? I take it Nova was the brand. Was it acrylic? And did you sand it before starting? Fun to watch you working distant to close up and liked seeing the pre-sketch. It looks complex to map out. I too want to paint an electric box and the more specific on equipment and protocol the better:)
Yes, I used acrylic paint. In the past I might have used exterior acrylic from Home Depot, but Nova offers a wide variety of mural quality acrylics. They can be pricey however. The city cleaned and prepped the boxes for this project so I didnt need to sand it. Divide protocols based on equipment condition... good, decent, poor and whether the equipment is a bare metal, plastic casing, or painted metal. hope this helps
This is E-THER-E-AL when the lights are out. I was not expecting that, it looks like a dream/spirit journey. The fire, man. The fire looks ghostly. The turtle is stunning. The cacti, my guy, them cacti tho. The way that they just glow and tower, and then the space scape over it? I am blown away by how gorgeous this piece turned out. Would not be surprised if it caused some intense dreams! Some hella blessed children to have THAT in their playroom!
Wow! Thank you so much! This was truly a journey, not only for me, but for the family. This mural is the result of years of work from the family to even have that wall built, so I was honored to paint it and wanted to go next level. so glad it made such a great impact. Thanks so much for your appreciation!
Looking forward to more of this series. I think my first mural was 35 years ago in Middle school, they had me paint our mascot on a hallway wall. I have always loved working large, changing an entire space if possible. I like to sculpt 3d elements to add to the illusions. Fun stuff. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! We just have to throw ourselves out there. My first few murals were just for family so I could get the practice. But my first REAL mural was for a college where I live and, similar to your story, I just approached and asked. It pretty much just led to a chain reaction after that. 🙂
Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to become what it has. But, the universe seems willing to help a bit when we take steps in the direction we want to go. Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear others out there are bringing more color to the world!
Your work flow is inspiring. Do you prefer rattlecans or brush work? Most of my mural work is indoor, and I never get to use spray-paint. Recently started airbrushing some of it again, but I feel like it might lack some of the finesse of brush painting? Loved watching this. Thanks for sharing.
I really dig both and enjoy that my projects dictate different mediums. Maybe check out Gold Montana or their water based line for indoor projects. Low pressure and low odor might be nice to incorporate... Check out @barrio_artist on Instagram - that guy is a wizard with the air brush
Amazing work, I am about to paint my first one and I have followed and read different stuff , I really like your style. Do you mind sharing what type or acrylic exterior paint you use ? And or spray paint? Keep up the good work it is soooo amazing
Stunning work ... to think a person has all this wonderfulness stored in their brain and then is able to translate it into a reality and be able to share it with others to enjoy ... God has blessed you with a talent so beautiful.
