You need exceptional management to do this effectively. Ones who are self-aware as well as in tune with the demands of various roles, and motivated to self develop. Otherwise they'll never get it. And without that standard in place, your formula is doomed to fail. Good luck.
What about quarterly meetings? EOS one looks amazing and I'm playing with it now but for quartlery meetings all I can do is set up a custom agenda? For the Segue is there a way to type in? We always as 3 questions and type the answers (have always kept agendas on word) but how do I add that ability into these agendas?
While EOS One currently has mainly weekly features for its L10, it can be used for quarterly meetings. As you've mentioned, you can create a custom agenda and set the meeting time to "as needed" rather than weekly. While we do not have a quarterly Scorecard or agenda right now, we do look to have more custom features in the future. The Segue does not have a text field, as it is meant for an informal, quick check-in. If you have any other questions, please email support@eosworldwide.com, and we will get you your answers!
Quick question: let's say there's 3 items on the issue list, but due to time constraints only one ends up being IDS'd. What happens to the remaining 2 items on the list? Are they automatically postponed to next week's L10 and/or addressed at the end of the recap at all?
I love this. I rarely hear the top priority issue, or the root cause identified in meetings. I hear stories and see squirrels chased around the room. This issues-solving track is a simple, easy-to-understand best practice. thank you!
We have our sights set on the Fall so stay tuned for more updates! We have a few local events happening across the globe, and you can find them here: www.eosworldwide.com/we-run-on-eos#events You can also connect with your local EOS Implementer to see if they have any upcoming workshops or networking events that would work for you: www.eosworldwide.com/implementer
Yelling out “who’s gonna fix this him or you” is not empowering your team, it just looked really bad and then to blame your OC’d was another Dick move- you just unnecessarily embarrassed your own people in public. That’s poor leadership and a massive ego. not OC’d. I stopped watching from that point on
When you have a large team how do you get your work done on top of making sure you are available? Balance is one of our company's core values and bringing work home all the time because I ran out of time would throw my work/life balance off. I love talking with my team, but being in some type of meeting all day means I am not getting my own work done.
Great question! We invite you to check out "The EOS Life," which dives deep into how to Delegate and Elevate successfully without simply passing on the workload to someone else. You can download a free chapter of "The EOS Life" here: www.eosworldwide.com/eos-life-book#chapter You can read more about the Delegate and Elevate Tool here: www.eosworldwide.com/blog/dont-delegate-your-genius We have a ton of blogs on this topic on our website, so take a look when you have a chance; you'll definitely find some wisdom on how to balance your to-dos with being there for your team.
We don't have a video for that just yet. But if you're struggling to understand this tool, your local EOS Implementer can definitely help: www.eosworldwide.com/implementer
How do you do this when most companies NEED to have proper documentation before making that decision? You can see right away the people who don't GWC so how do you build a case around it when most companies are also watching out for the "unemployment" case and if they can win it? I know this isn't talked about much, but it is a reality for most companies.
Great question! When we're teaching GWC, we also typically cover the concept of the 3-Strike Rule, which should be documented each time. You should have a minimum of three documented data points before making a people move. You should use all the tools in your toolbox to show the work done by a manager/HR to try and reconcile the issue, but at the end of the day, we all need RPRS in every seat for the greater good of the business and then must make the tough calls.
The analogy about being "equally yoked" between a Visionary and Integrator is just spot-on! It illustrates how the right pairing can lead to exponential results, emphasizing the importance of synergy and alignment in roles.
Such an insightful and candid conversation about organizational culture and leadership dynamics! My key takeaway from the conversation is the importance of being intentional about building a positive culture and addressing any issues proactively.
Great question, Gina! We use the GWC Tool to determine if someone gets it, wants it, and has the capacity to do their role well. Read more about GWC here: www.eosworldwide.com/blog/no-more-guess-who-gwc
Your insights about the need for courage in leadership are spot-on! Delaying tough decisions only prolongs issues and impacts the entire team. Building a strong team means having the courage to make tough calls when needed.
Heart-centered leadership is such a crucial aspect of effective management. Creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported ultimately leads to better business outcomes. Thanks for sharing these insightful perspectives!
