I pray these two, their baby, and Elmo are doing okay after what happened to Zangief. It just isn’t fair, man. Gief was a good boy, who deserved many more years than he was given. 😢
52:07 I love how Elmo doesn't actually stop trying to step on Paige's hair once she starts complaining. He just awkwardly continues treading on it as if she's standing on his territory and he needs her to move.
I absolutely LOVE the painful silence after Pat's statement at 9:54, because it's the moment he won the argument, and nobody had any response. The only reason it ended is because Pat broke the silence himself.
I agree that strega isn't as strong as Adachi but saying the suck is a fundamental misunderstanding of their purpose. They're tragic, escaped child soldiers that are dying of basically terminal illnesses- they have superpowers that are killing them, so they want the fall cause A. They have chronic unruly pain and B. They're all scared of death but mask it by pretending not to care- Chidori says as much. From their perspective an unstoppable God is coming to end them anyway, and they're siding with her cause they know she can't be stopped. And part of them is hoping she'd take them out and remake the world better. I find them way more interesting than "I was bored lmao" do I think they could do more with it? Yes! Are they more interesting than "I did it to put shido on the top for some reason the rip it apart from him" "I armed the guy I hate with nuclear weapons " "Why? What was your plan?" ".....?" Anyway STREGA >>>Akechi
My brothers and I argued too much while playing Melee, so our Mom got mad at us and SOLD OUR GAMECUBE. How blessed we were to have a mother that could see the damage that Melee would have done. We would still be children to this day.
Fast forward 7 years and you have essentially THE SAME STORY!!!! But instead of pissbaby being pissy about controllers was pissbaby removing sound from his opponents because hes a pissbaby.
In most cases I'd call this a major upgrade, especially with the environment textures. I do think they probably didn't have time to fine tune every cutscene though. You can see at 1:56 a perfect example of where the previous lighting was much superior and menacing. That said, at 2:02 in the very next frame, even though the same issue persists, the rest of the surrounding scene is more detailed in the new lighting.
Character lighting is a little bright and unnatural in some areas, like there's a constant flashlight being held up to each model. But besides that, changes look well, some higher detail in textures, metals have a real shine, lighting that doesn't fall onto character models seems to interact with the environment more naturally. If we can fix the character lighting, should be perfect
I surmise that this is not intended by the developers, but simply a consequence of how they set up the lighting in the old system, and they basically didn't go in and finetune that for the new system, so now you get this really discordant look where before there was probably a light placed in front of a character to emphasize certain parts, but now it's way too bright and just seems like a spotlight in the scene itself.
Is is one of the game's finest moments, so it's a tough bar. I tend to agree with the mob that Shadowbringers is my favorite overall, but the Stormblood Patches and especially the Ivalice Raid probably take top spot for me. I was satisfied with Endwalker for the most part, especially in certain parts, but I think that the 'Dark Cloud' would have been a far more appropriate antagonist. That was a major missed opportunity.
Yeah. Also, cutscenes (especially the older they are) are currently borked to hell and back, because they probably still use older lighting. Turn your 3D resolution scaling down to 99, then visit The Vault, Aetherochemical Research Facility or Syrcus Tower. You'll see the difference.
How someone can look at a shot like 0:48 or 2:45 and say the only change they made is things look brighter is actually beyond me. You have to be hard of sight, have a shitty monitor, or trolling to not notice the improvements to lighting, shadows, textures (mostly in the environment and the character models). Sure, the less intentional lighting through the use of actual environmental lighting and shadows makes some stuff a little less dramatic, and some stuff is a definitely awkward as a result of putting upgraded tech into an older cutscene not built for it, but to ignore all of the changes and downplaying it is crazy. Edit: Forgot to mention that shadows are definitely sharper, making dark spots even darker. How you can make something darker by "just turning up brightness" is beyond me.
Ikr? I had my character parked in Ishgard before the patch, and was blown the hell away at how good the city looks with the new graphics. Especially when the sun moves in.

is this sarcasm? god i cant stand you xiv shills.completely brainwashed cultists. ITS LOOKS THE SAME! maybe like kicking the gamma settings up a few notches
yeah people praising this is just being fanboys at this point ..... everyone can toggle brightness and contrast ..... i do hope you are right for DT area, but im gonna wait before coming back to this game .
@@Medbread well there is a difference between wearing glasses fornthe first time and wearingnnew glasses. The new glasses should be the same strength as the previous pair., if not a little bit better. That said yeah i might have exaggerated a bit, but the way i see it the improvement is not that muxh as just a brightness improvment and some littlenadded shade effect. Its not what they showed us during that demo that other live letter ( maybe a separate video from the live letter ? Forgot ) that they showed us .
@ZelosSama It looks pretty different to me, idk. As for the glasses, as someone who's worn glasses my entire life, getting new glasses could be just like getting new glasses, because you usually get new glasses when your vision gets worse. As a kid, my eyesight was only a little bit worse, say 10% worse. Then they got even worse later on, say maybe another 10%. So when I got a new pair, the new glasses were maybe 20% eyesight correction, thus equivalent to when I got my glasses for the first time with a net 10% increase in better eyesight for both the first and second times I got glasses.
The new lighting looks a bit off in specific moments (mostly due to how we got used to old rendering method), though shadows and general character lighting does look much better
It's probably that especially in older cutscenes, they tailor-made the lighting specifically for the system they had at their disposal at the time. To get the max "dramatic value" out of it. This lighting... probably doesn't play nice with everything else. If you remember the benchmark 1.0 problems with the character creation using the old lighting and how "wrong" it looked. Probably the same deal here. One can hope they'll comb through it at some point.
The update rolled out for NPC that used character creation assets (Like Teledji). Custom NPC that didn't use them are still to be rolled out through 7.x
The general large-scale changes seem to be complete. There's much denser and higher resolution grass, as well as general field texture improvements, more shadows being rendered in scenes, metals having a nicer sheen to them, along with all player model assets getting bumped up (except face tattoos for some reason), not to mention the fantastic lighting improvements in zones. There's still a lot of work to be done for NPCs that use custom assets, a massive amount of old gear to rework, as well as old textures for stuff like wood or cloth that are currently unchanged. As well as a lot of dungeons that haven't been adjusted.
Not complete, no. They said they'd be carving away at it more during the patches. Especially custom NPCs and gear. The lion's share of the zones is finished, but I'd argue there are still a few parts to be adjusted there.
