Hello there and welcome to my channel, my name is Kirsty and I am based on the west coast of Scotland. This channel is where I keep a record of my crafting projects - knitting, crochet, spinning and sewing, to name just a few. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2011 and I find crafting helps take my mind off the bad days, hence 'Crafting through Crohn's disease. I hope you enjoy.
I have a resting mosaic crochet project by Get Yer Hook On. I'm.doing the scandi birds pattern and I was surprised at how easy it was.. then I put it down for a few months and I just cannot pick the technique up again 😂
It turned out lovely, for the past 4 years I've been saying, "This is the year I'm going to learn brioche" I still want to learn but it seems so darn complicated
Love a list. Always making them I can't live without them. I have a daily work list, meal plans, shopping list, big to do list, crafting list. Oh the list goes on! Pun thoroughly intended! Loving the vidz. P.s. you can always chuck the stew on the hob for a little bit and bubble it lidless to reduce the liquid and increase the flavour.

Hey, a little bit late to the party, slowly catching up on RU-vid. Congratulations on the wedding, so pleased it went well and I hope that despite the obstacles you still managed to have a magical day. I’m not sure if you still need advice on the bouquet, but you could look in to a bell jar. So the sort of thing the rose in Beauty and the Beast is in. That would keep the dust off and be easier to clean. Sorry for the late watch and comment if it is redundant. ❤
For the yarn eater, could you make two the same size and stitch them together to make a cushion? Or a plain back for it? and that brioche is gorgeous!!! And that sunflower is just adorable!!! I have a free TOFT pattern for a terracota pot if you wanted to make the whole thing crochet... Happy to send to you x I have Smaug on my to do list but haven't started yet, I still have some african flowers from when I made a hippo in 2020 lol. I counted up too and have 18 WIPs following me into 2024. I had a mad dash prior to the new year and finished a few small languishing WIPs and have set myself a target of trying to finish half of them, which is quite a target considering I need to destash and clear my flat ready to move up North x
Hi Kirsty and Happy New Year! It's lovely seeing your recent makes and I have enjoyed your vlogmas too. That blanket is amazing and must be super cosy!!! I've been quietly following in the background and realised you live not far from my husband (he moved upto Crookston in May of 2023 from Essex). He attends karate at Lagoon Leisure centre in Paisley too. We may have met in person or in passing at a yarn show but I'm not too sure, it would be lovely to officially meet when I'm next in Glasgow - soon that will be my permanent residence and I'm scared about not knowing so many people. Your knit night sounds fabulous and I would love to join you when I visit in February xxx
Look in a dictionary. They're not skanes, they are skeins, pronounced skeens, but actually those aren't skeins at all, they're hanks. Skeins area those things you buy that are kind of rectangular, and you can usually pull from the center or the outside.
Do you feel better now for schooling someone you don’t know on the internet? As I really dont give a shit about your opinion on how I say things or what I call them. But clearly you feel so strongly to leave such a stupid comment. Have a lovely day
You knit such lovely things. I’ve been following you from the start but I still only knit simple things. I’m determined to try colour work next year. Would you recommend starting with anything in particular?
I think the minis would look amazing as a flax light. Either stripped with a grey or all the colors in order and then the rest of the sweater in the grey. Those colors ❤❤❤
I hate it when everything breaks at once! Totally got my sympathy! I used to get quarterly bonuses and as each one rolled around I would start to dream of what I was going to buy and inevitably just before I could make any dream purchases any number of things would start to go awry and prevent my frivolous behavior. LOL hang in there.
I think your brain deserves a good long rest after pulling off your perfectly personalized wedding! Your bouquet is awesome! I knew immediately what the shaft was! LOL So happy for you! Now it's time for living the day to day!❤
Thank you Penny! 😃 yeah I’ve noticed my brain is a bit fried but sadly I go back to work tomorrow so it will need to right itself overnight or tomorrow will be interesting haha.
Hello Kirsty! Love your curls! You cast on the first one of the finished socks when we met 🤩 The audio is a little low on my end. I always put it on 200% when I edit my videos (on iMovie), so adds and next videos don't come in too loud.
Hmm I will need to work out how to increase the volume on iMovie. I should probably watch some tutorials for it hahah see what I can and can’t do on it.
@@GrianaigCreations I use iMovie on my laptop. I edit the sound by clicking on the light grey volume icon and set it to 200%. Then I also click on the equalizer icon (the vertical bars) and set noise reduction to 100%. Hope this helps ;-) Just remember it is not too important.
Love the crochet sweater, agree with Scott about the rib, the row adds lovely texture to jumper. The colour of your Mum's socks is Peacock, my Sis Kirsty has it, I had a similar one called Kingfisher, it has orange in it. Good luck with the bouquet 🎉
I am a big believer in using your slow cooker all year round! It is so nice after a long day to have dinner already done, and I strongly recommend making extra to then freeze for a later date. Genuinely, I didn’t have to cook for 2 weeks over the start of my new job because our freezer was full of meals. Heaven not having to think about dinner. Now I need to build it up again for ease in December, and it means you can go a week or so without food shopping, and using energy. Money saved for other things then. Wooooo slow cooker all the way!!
Yeah that’s what I want. I want to not to have to think of dinner. Was I don’t normally finish work till 6pm it can be so frustrating having to finish one job to then move to the kitchen. I want a freezer full of portioned out home cooked meals. Your videos always inspire me to cook and bake as well haha and make me hungry
Hi. Great to see your projects. I have not even started my Underwing mitts yet but I love the look for them. My tension on colourwork is a bit hit and miss! I’ve been using the air fryer loads but love slow cooker cooking too. Nothing better than getting to teatime and realising I don’t need to cook 👍🏻 Have a great Sunday 🙂
Hi. I was a vendor for the first time there and I absolutely loved it. Everyone was so supportive. Marcus from Fibre Punk was so lovely and I have bought some of his lovely yarn. I did not get much shopping time sadly but got some great stuff. Glad you enjoyed your visit too. Someone was showing me lots of ‘Morag’ cows that she had made and seemed to love the pattern 👍🏻
Yes the lady was saying it was great on ankles and I could see that when she was demonstrating so very glad I got to see it in person and save myself a £500+ mistake haha
I have never tried pumpkin pie before. It’s not really a thing here. Or wasn’t until recent years. My friend is apparently going to make one when she’s here in a couple of weeks so I will report back haha
They are great events. Can be overwhelming with the amount of people but just take it slow and sometimes the offer seating in quieter areas or quiet rooms which is always nice
Definitely a dustland sock, knitting them right now, love the texture too 😊 I can’t believe there is still a thing about the green and the blue, dearie me, come to Australia nobody cares he he,, I love that 😊
I finished my fiftieth and final little witch hat for you, while watching this episode. I am glad to hear you are no longer in so much pain. Take care!
