Although I personally like the music, it seems more suited for something futuristic like Perfect Dark. Wolfenstein I associate more with an orchestral action movie soundtrack.
Not so sure if the spectres in particular should have unique sounds, being stealthy is kind of their thing. So making them distinguishable from normal pinkies kinda detracts from that.
That's a good point, I originally didn't have them but I figured they'd be a neat addition. Spectres still make sounds so it's not like they're COMPLETELY stealthy after being activated anyway lol
I've come across a lot of alternatives (I think MetaDoom does something like this?), but I've never seen a full-blown take. Let me know what you think!
We need more options and cool ideas for music, art, sound design, level design, character design, weapon design, I really should start learning how to do this stuff and make sounds but yea this stuff is awesome
I hope that each episode has a different vibe to it and will be released on some music services to listen to and to purchase. I wonder what the ultimate challenge conquest would be with this feel. Will spear of destiny be worked on or only the base game?
I know this is from Wolfenstein but IMO this wouldn't sound out of place in the 80s cartoon Inspector Gadget. I know the riff is from the Phantom of the Opera but still my point stands. That riff + synthwave and chiptune = Gadgetwave. It's cause it sounds mysterious. I added it to my “Unintentional Gadgetwave” playlist.
@@CarlosAtBV I think “Gadgetwave” is a real microgenre but there aren't many examples of it yet. I know people might say “how can you have a genre based on a single show?” But there's a whole online microgenre dedicated to making covers of songs that sound like they came from Thomas The Tank Engine so an Inspector Gadget based microgenre isn't that far fetched. I'm trying to make some Gadgetwave tracks myself and for inspiration I would suggest (obviously) Shuki Levy's original soundtrack from the show and also the chiptune album Quirky Throwbacks by Moritz Bintig (which I found on APM music a long time ago). You can tell that album is based on 80s cartoons especially Gadget.
getting to start off with a knife, pistol and double barrel shotgun or Drilling and then getting the MP40, STG44, Minigun, the Old Blood Drum mag double barrel and other things would be good to see.
