I have been tempted to do this as I love having the slides set up and ready to go. Currently only have this totally planned out for phonics (I set this up & plan this component). My hesitation is that when the students are doing independent work, I sometimes sneak in personal planning and other work so I don't want to lose that valuable time. Do you have a second computer at work? Thanks
I can extend my screen to my promethean board! So the slides are on the board and then I can work on my laptop! You should be able to go to your display settings and see if you have that option :)
Can you explain to me when doing slides became a thing? I am a former homeschool teacher turn private school teacher and I keep hearing about slides on social media.
I love that you said you prefer the regular structured curriculum days! So many love the first week and I’m over here just ready for it to be over haha
Thanks for the videos. Not a teacher but a brother that wants to help his sister with setting up her classroom. I felt the stress and busy body emotions in your videos😅 Thanks again, and hope your wedding goes(or has gone by) without any hitches!
Loved your videos!! My son is in third grade this coming school year. We do public school online but I like to make a room in our house feel like a classroom. I like to incorporate ideas from an actual brick and mortar classroom. Thank you for all of the ideas!!
They were part of the TPT bundle I bought! I was able to edit them to create what I wanted them to say! 😊 www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Modern-Farmhouse-Classroom-Decor-Bundle-Modern-Farmhouse-Classroom-Theme-3874551?st=fa500e7c4ca75b798a8d7d07aa8f8483
We started the year with our first science unit, and after we finished the unit we switched to social studies. Then when we finished that one we just go back to the other subject. We cut the district pacing in half, so instead of a 6 week unit we do it in 3-4 weeks instead! We will finish all of them before state testing and then after state testing we will just do some fun experiments, explorations, and research!
Having a blank template where the usual things you need but none of the things that change make slides faster. Then you can just use the template instead of copying the last day and deleting everything. I also end up having one for each subject for the unit or by week (that's how our reading and math units go). I can then just copy them over to the main template when I am ready to teach it. It made planning this year sooo much faster.
Teacher is a very important job its to help to students to learn & to become good citizens We need to try to make efforts Teachers have financial freedom & healthy foods supply system
Hi! I just found your channel. I am a new (ish) teacher. Something that I love seeing in classrooms is the calm down corner.. How do you manage it? Like what are some of your rules for it? Things like that! It's something I definitely want to add to my classroom next year I just need to brainstorm some ideas first.
So sorry I am just now seeing this!! Since this is my first year implementing it, I am not an expert, but have found some things that work for us! 1. They can’t use it during a whole group lesson. We talked about the importance of being present for a lesson! 2. I went over procedures and expectations for it during the first week of school. When they need to use it, they go back and start the 5 minute timer (its a sand timer so that it does not draw attention to them), then they pick one of the activities from the bucket. After their 5 minutes, they have the option to go back to what they were working on or come talk to me about why they needed the corner. I try to make myself available when the 5 minutes are up when I see a student go in the corner, in case they want to talk about it! 3. We also went over not going in the corner if someone else is there and respecting their privacy by not asking them about it. My kiddos this year have been super great this year about that! Thats all I can think of right now! Honestly most of my teaching this year is trial and error since I am in a new grade level! 😬
Your class is excellent! It is literally exactly like my grade 5 class! As the year goes on when something is out of order, I would take a picture on my phone and email it to myself so I could show it on my Smart Board. During the Morning Meeting or the beginning of the day, I would show the pics of what didn't get put back in place at the end of the day. I would ask, "What's wrong with this picture?" and students would be like oops, Mrs. Thompson, my bad and start fixing it- sometimes I didn't say anything at all; took all of 5 minutes to make the room right, we talked about responsibility - they were accountable! Keep Striving!!
Japanese pronunciation is very straightforward. Ch will always make a "ch" sound like "cheese." The same is true for all the other consonants and vowels. A will always make "ah." I will always make "ee" and so on. So "mochi" is pronounced "moh-chee." The little toys are based on the texture of a dessert that has the same name! You can find the dessert in some grocery stores!
Just a suggestion for your bulletin board with your genre’s. If you have time or get a chance maybe put the genre cards on black paper to give them a border, this will make them pop more. Love your room and the atmosphere you are creating for your students.
