it's called spasmodic contraction it usually follows a session of crying. adults do it too however young babies up to about 6 months do not breath through their mouth so it's much louder. It can last for several hours depending how long or intense the crying has been.
no it is not normal! it could be sleep apnea or something. I dont know! I'm only 11, but I am fairly smart and like to know all about sleep so that's how I know about THIS! no she surely isn't dreaming, as she does it at least 4 times a week!!
I have a 2 year old son who does the exact samething as your daughter. He is doing it right now actually. Did you ever find out what is was? its like the breathing kids do after they throw a temper tantrum and cry real hard.
I have never heard this before. I am a mother of five. I would suggest showing this to the pediatrician. It might be nothing but, I think I would still get it checked out.
