You should know that monals (genus Lophophorus), tragopans (genus Tragopan), koklasses (genus Pucrasia), nartakees (genus Polyplectron), crested arguses (genus Rheinardia), and crestless arguses (genus Argusianus) are not pheasants.

@officialzonea

@jacksonhenderson-ff8jz and @officialzonea, actually, only the former two genera do, whereas the latter four genera are all removed from the Phasianidae family Pheasants are defined only by the subfamily Phasianinae, with there being four tribes of pheasants: Ithaginini (Blood Pheasants and Fossil Relatives) with only two extant species under a single living genus: the Southern Blood Pheasant (Ithaginis affinis) and the Northern Blood Pheasant (Ithaginis cruentus), Catreini (Cheer Pheasant and Fossil Relatives) with only a single extant species under a single extant genus: the Cheer Pheasant (Catreus wallichii), Lophurini (Gallopheasants) with eighteen extant species under six genera: the Kalij Pheasant (Euplocamus leucomelanos), the Silver Pheasant (Euplocamus nycthemerus), the Edwards's Pheasant (Gennecus edwardsi), the Swinhoe's Pheasant (Gennecus swinhoii), the Salvadori's Pheasant (Tropicophasis inornatus), the Bulwer's Pheasant (Lobiophasis bulweri), the Tibetan Eared Pheasant (Crossoptilon harmani), the Blue Eared Pheasant (Crossoptilon auritum), the White Eared Pheasant (Crossoptilon crossoptilon), Brown Eared Pheasant (Crossoptilon mantchuricum), the Siamese Fireback (Lophura diardi), the Laotian Fireback (Lophura laotiensis), the Malayan Crestless Fireback (Lophura erythrophthalma), the Sumatran Crestless Fireback (Lophura sumatrana), the Bornean Crestless Fireback (Lophura pyronota), the Malayan Crested Fireback (Lophura rufa), the Sumatran Crested Fireback (Lophura indonesica), and the Bornean Crested Fireback (Lophura ignita), and Phasianini (Long-Tailed Pheasants) with eleven extant species under six genera: the Reeves's Pheasant (Syrmaticus reevesii), the Mrs. Hume's Pheasant (Calophasis humiae), the Elliot's Pheasant (Calophasis ellioti), the Mikado Pheasant (Nesophasis mikado), the Copper Pheasant (Graphephasianus soemmerringii), the Lady Amherst's Pheasant (Chrysolophus amherstiae), the Golden Pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus), the Black-Breasted Pheasant (Phasianus elegans), the Black-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), the Ring-Necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus), and the Green Pheasant (Phasianus versicolor) Both monals (genus Lophophorus) and tragopans (genus Tragopan) are actually part of the subfamily Lophophorinae, which also contains the yejakuns (genus Tetraophasis) and sonakebaters (genus Chrysortyx) with the verreaux's yejakun (Tetraophasis obscurus) and buff-throated yejakun (Tetraophasis zechenyii) being the closest living relatives of the monals (genus Lophophorus) and the rain sonakebater (Chrysortyx coromandelicus) and harlequin sonakebater (Chrysortyx delegorguei) being the closest living relatives of the tragopans (genus Tragopan), thus dividing the Lophophorinae subfamily into the tribes Tragopanini for both tragopans (genus Tragopan) and sonakebaters (genus Chrysortyx) and Lophophorini for both monals (genus Lophophorus) and yejakuns (genus Tetraophasis) Koklasses (genus Pucrasia), nartakees (genus Polyplectron), crested arguses (genus Rheinardia), and crestless arguses (genus Argusianus) are actually all part of the superfamily Galloidea rather than Phasianoidea, the koklasses (genus Pucrasia) are constituted by only two extant species: the Northern Koklass (Pucrasia nipalensis) and the Southern Koklass (Pucrasia macrolopha) and are specifically part of the monotypic subfamily Pucrasiinae, which part of the family Tetraonidae alongside the grouse (subfamily Tetraoninae) and turkeys (subfamily Meleagridinae), while nartakees and arguses are both considered offshoots of the subfamily Pavoninae within the complex family Gallidae, with nartakees (genus Polyplectron) being part of the subtribe Polyplectronina along with their closest living relatives the wajameras (genus Haematortyx), the Polyplectronina subtribe is part of the tribe Polyplectronini along with the rohutans (subtribe Tropicoperdicina), whereas the two genera of arguses are lumped together in the subtribe Argusianina, with the peafowl (subtribe Pavonina) being their closest living relatives, both peafowl (subtribe Pavonina) and arguses (subtribe Argusianina) belong to the tribe Pavonini.

Your video is incorrect, bobwhites and chungchis are not quails, bobwhites (genus Colinus) are partridges whereas chungchis (genus Excalfactoria) are part of the family Gallidae.
@officialzonea

@@indyreno2933 Northern bobwhite (Colinus virginianus), new world quail is indeed not a true quail, and as for the chung chi (Synoicus chinensis), it has had a complex taxonomic history, being classified into the genus Coturnix, then Synoicus, then Excalfactoria. But since 2021, the species Excalfactoria chinensis, and Excalfactoria adansoni were moved to resurrected genus Synoicus based on phylogenetic analysis (Seabrook-Davison et al. 2009; Kimball et al. 2011). www.worldbirdnames.org/new/updates/taxonomy/ There are now 4 species in the genus Synoicus. Brown quail (Synoicus ypsilophorus), Snow Mountain quail (Synoicus monorthonyx, formerly genus Anurophasis), King quail (Synoicus chinensis), and Blue quail (Synoicus adansonii).
