I just started about 6 months ago... I did collect with my dad when I was a kid and found my old collection and have been hooked since. Im doing the ebay thing. I pulled a Silver oitburst Bedard on my 7th pack.of series 2 (My beat card atm) and I just hit His retro young gun and draft card in a box of extended series today!!!
@@PuckMike Not Only that but the card shop down the street closed down and I got like 20,000 cards of them for dirt cheap, I got a 10x14 signed gretzky with coa for 25$ Now im making lots out of all the rest, I have 400 pat roy, 200 gretzky, 200 hasek, 100 mcdavids, 100 kanes ect... JACKPOT

I agree prices are insane. I haven't even opened any of series 2 hockey because it's way too expensive. Only way to get any profit in terms of resell value is to flip cards/lots from ebay or some other source. Thanks for watching and commenting!
my local shop sells 2023-24 series 2 hobby boxes for 375$CAD tax in, that's wayyy to much for what it is, I just bought the top 12 rookies (minus bedard) for maybe 200$ max, how does that make sense? to actually pull that it would be at least 5 hobby boxes and still not guaranteed, they better not do that next year!
I've been collecting for forty years. I buy sell trade on many sites and places. Ebay has the most eyes but is actually the worst for sellers getting ripped off. On Ebay if a person says they didn't get the card they are refunded. When ever I decide to sell some on Ebay, I always quit when a few go missing. I've never had a card go missing off of Ebay. It's around 5% that goes missing on Ebay. Facebook groups are better then Insta.
@@rialtot039 I just had claim today. I made a video of me packaging the card and handing it to the the lady at the post office. We'll see how it goes. I don't have much faith that Ebay will side with me though.
Congrats on 2 years. I just saw your 1 year video today too. I got lucky at the LCS, bought 10 of the 18 OPC packs from a fresh box at only 4.5 a pack (I even told the LCS that he was giving it away at that price, but he was happy to.. which was awesome). Split the 10 packs up with my son and he pulled a Bedard premier. All in all it would have been like 1/33 boxes to pull the card, and we got lucky with a few loose packs. I think I'll continue to give reasonably priced loose packs out of fresh LCS hobby boxes a shot going forward, while staying away from ebay loose packs.
Right now just boxes. Haven't ventured out into breaks but I would assume some value could be had there..albeit with the same or some risk as buying the box yourself. Happy collecting!
I have a decent card collection started about 25 years ago . I got all hologram and special cards in soft sleeve and hard sleeves in box’s . Over 40 Gretzky hologram cards in sleeves .. I’m wondering if they are worth anything ?!?
I would go to eBay and enter in each card and see what they’ve sold for recently. That will tell you how much each one is currently worth at least according to eBay sales. Good luck!
Hard to say the exact price since things go up and down so much. I wouldn’t be surprised if sealed boxes were selling the same as 15-16 (McDavid) in 5-10 years…$1000+. Always hard to know for sure though. I don’t think I’ll buy the box..at least not the hobby box for that much. Might pick up a blaster or loose pack for fun. Happy collecting!
No because they produced millions of cards , it's not a rare production. It's all about supply and demand they made too much of this product which makes it worthless.

I personally love artifacts, maybe not everyone’s favorite but it became mine when I started collecting 2 years ago because it was 150$ per hobby and you could hit an auto which I never had of a player before…I recently got a box of this years artifacts and was lucky enough to hit an emerald Roman I. Biggest and best pull I’ve got so far, always looking for a Gretzky mcdavid or matthews auto. It’s an expensive hobby I gotta say but always fun to rip boxes

Yeah unfortunately the fewer cards will continue even aside from any Bedard effect. All the more reason to have other players in the game and not one company with a monopoly!
I heard that soin after release of series 2 UD the price is to jump to around $700 a box. .... but who knows just going to have to wait and see. I just wish i got in at my local card shop for $150 a box presale. Lol could of made a killing.if i got 2 cases.
I hope Upper Deck does better with quality control at that price point for Series 2. And yes it’s sad that profits were put over hobby growth with the increased price. At that price point a lot of kids will be priced out of enjoying the rip. Great video! Thank you!
If you can find many Upper Deck EXQUISITE CONNOR MCDAVID RC, I buy them all before the sports cards market wake-up too much and make them all unaffordable.

Nice! It depends on what type of box you’re opening. You can get up to 3 autos in a hobby box but you can also get 0. There’s different types of boxes (hobby or retail). Usually you don’t get autos in retail like blasters. My friend is actually a photographer for Upper Deck and took the Pettersson cover photo for 23-24 credentials. Think that deserves a couple comp’d boxes, or an employee discount? They didn’t even tell him, let alone credit him. Never do, despite having tons of his pictures being used as cards. It’s super cool, but just seems crazy to me he doesn’t even get told how his pictures are used. Anyway, hoping 23-24 credentials is worth a shot but not off to a good start in my eyes lmao
@@PuckMike yeah it’s his job which is awesome, but no credit for/communication about how the pictures are used. I should have an upper deck hookup! Oh well. They did give him a Christmas card with a picture of Bedard on it - both UD and Bedard officially on the same piece of cardboard is probably worth something at least lol
good video the crosby is not a clear cut it is just a base card but kinda cool. the cost for you per card unless you bought the single doesnt make much sense if you are just dividing the number of cards in a box by the amount you paid because not all cards are created equal the base cards you are really not gong to get any return out of. best of luck on your prospecting tho would be careful on some of the players with no graded cards already and not many sales one way to look at it is filling the demand another way is that there simply is no demand or collectors of that specific player. another thing would be your predictions on returns are razor thin considering you will need to pay the 13% ebay fee plus shipping cost on your eventual sale so should take that into account unless you already are. I think as long as you are not truly doing this to resale for more profit and wouldnt mind holding onto those cards as collectibles then looks great but i do think if you are just grading to make profit you will probably do about break even when you sell this lot over time because of the less of a premium sgc cards have for sales then psa and other fee's like your shipping fee to sgc or the shipping fee from them back to you as im pretty sure you have to pay for both ways when grading. look forward to following your channel in the future found you from your other channel look like you are making great content and as a new ebay seller myself think it will be nice to follow your journey and maybe bounce some things off you or just talk shop about hockey, cards and ebay some time. hope this comment doesnt come off as negitive in any way i might be out of line dont have much experience with grading myself but just wanted to mention a few things that were going through my mind when watching the video have a good one!

I personally LOVE lose packs. Not eBay lose packs, but packs from an opened box at my local card shop. Whenever I buy a hobby box, I always buy one lose pack of the same product. On christmas eve I hit big doing this! Bought a box of 23-24 artifacts, and one pack of the same. Box had some OK hits in it, but the lose pack had the regular Chicago Blackhawks redemption! Was super stoked! So was everyone in the shop, because I always open my lose pack in the store haha. Anyway, great video bud, I been back into the hobby for 2 years now myself, and everything you said rings true.

True that. The NHL said they listened to other companies offers when it came time to renew the current licensing deal but that they like the current wide range of products that Upper Deck offers (I’m paraphrasing). UD has some good products and designs for sure - many that have been longstanding (o-pee-chee), but would still be cool to see some new ones! Agreed I don’t ever see it happening at least not for a while since UD seems to have a strong grip on the NhL. Thanks for watching.
