Sorry brother, but as many others have said, this is rust. Gold is not found this abundantly in meteorites. The reported gold content in meteorites ranges from 0.0003 to 8.74 parts per million. That’s ppm. 16 Psyche, the most precious metal rich asteroid found to date in our solar system, is about 220km in diameter, and is likely where most metallic meteorites that contain any gold whatsoever, come from. If this were a mass gold containing meteorite, you’d be looking at one of the biggest known specimens, if not the biggest, and you’d certainly want to be handing that sliver off to an institution for study. Regardless, this is still an awesome iron specimen, and you should be proud to own it!

Gold is not found in all meteorites. Only some contain gold. But the amount of gold found in these meteorites are microscopic traces. You would not be able to see it with the naked eye, just like the diamonds found in meteorites. A chemical analysis is the only way to get conclusive evidence to what the meteorite contains. That’s a really nice meteorite though! Thanks for sharing

Hey brother speaking of both, yesterday climbed to top of peak highest mount in region and found quartz chunks at surface level in clay sand and started picking up pieces and noticed gold visible on some of them with a companion black bixbyite (according to phone app ID) beautiful matrix. But my question is when i started nosing into a short mound where a young tree was pushing through I found a mass of something I could best describe as 2 colors burnt Orange and powedery when pressed and the other part of its matrix like charcoal black and hard, didn’t scratch like coal would and was at least as big as I am round and not sure how deep. I only got the top uncovered before someone drove up and i hit the view like a tourist so no one would think I was creepin. But I couldn’t sleep all night wondering what In the world it was? Any clues? I was tempted to think it space related because nothing is higher anywhere for hundred miles and well I always assume random hill on peaks were bullseyes for spaceballs. Thought I’d ask someone who knows what they are talking about.

Good job, looks great. You said you secured it down, right? I was thinking of doing the same with some leftover laminate flooring for my basement stairs. I wasn’t sure but thought it would be ok to glue it down since the steps and landing are such a small sq footage I didn’t think there’d be much expansion/contraction. I take it it’s safe to do

@texasflashcoveinstaller4317
@texasflashcoveinstaller4317 8 месяцев назад
I used an acrylic adhesive on the risers and a polyurethane on treads and epoxy on the nosing safety tread . The rest of the project installation was floating . There is an industrial standard with steps , the most important is the safety nosing , you Gota use epoxy and rough the side up you are adhering and use some 99% alcohol to clean before applying the epoxy . That is the most important step of all , no pun intended.

Gold can be found inside meteorites through a process called nucleosynthesis. During a supernova explosion, heavy elements like gold are formed through nuclear reactions. These elements are then dispersed into space when the star explodes. Over time, these dispersed elements can become incorporated into asteroids and other celestial bodies, including meteorites. When a meteorite containing gold enters the Earth's atmosphere and survives the journey, it can be found within the metallic or rocky composition of the meteorite.

Ask him what percentage of rust comes out of a meteorite
@Darwinwaterson1
@Darwinwaterson1 6 месяцев назад
@@user-gm3xn9hv5w The percentage of rust, or iron oxide, in a meteorite can vary depending on its composition and exposure to environmental conditions. Some meteorites contain very little rust, while others may have a significant amount, especially if they have been on Earth’s surface for a long time. Overall, the amount of rust in a meteorite is typically much lower than in terrestrial iron objects due to differences in their formation and exposure history.

If I set my pan out from a day at the creek then the same stats apply to the weight on my pan alone. 2 specs gold amongst a million Specs of metals that will rust given time exposed to oxygen. But the yellow devils ain’t changing. People are silly they get defeated because they can’t find one stop shop gold. That’s the fun gamble of the gold gambler though and how I view politics, a bunch of sh!t with a taste here and there of inspiration. Sick specimen you got there friend.

It more than likely contains various heavy metals . These are formed by exploding neutron stars , and then the molten ejecta instantly freezes in the vacuum of space , and that’s how the patterns form, only revealed by ferric chloride acid dip. All gold on and inside the earth was delivered by meteorites and asteroids, As well as water .
