Coming from outside, not knowing rules or norms of the community, I actually liked that moment when she turned her back. It added texture, dynamics, a jolt of intrigue. It evoked something in me, an untrained viewer, like she was saying: yeah, he’s amazing, I know it, I’m so confident in it that I’ll even turn my back and let you have your moment appreciating his skill. I’m confident that he’s mine (for the moment) and that he’s returning to pick up the dangling thread/reconnect after the temporary sever. Her turning her back communicated to me absolute confidence, pride, respect, and trust in her partner. I acknowledge that this opinion is missing the context of the community norms/expectations, so may be contrary to expected etiquette, but just letting you know what an outsider sees. This is the second time I saw a similar comment (commenter regretting the partner turned her back) and I felt this way the first time, too.
@@rosiereads7934 Rosie - respect your very kind opinion of her move. However, many excellent professional dancers have responded to his signature moves by dancing with him rather than rejecting him. I felt immediate insult both times I have seen her turn her back on Leo. Just saying.
I watched this a few times - youtube recommended it again, so being an intelligent woman, I click on again but immediately noticed that youtube wanted me to watch and listen to this at 1.25 speed this time - when suddenly I noticed a lot of details that were behind the veil at the slower speed - ha!
I love how Lauren contributes without interfering with the lead and knocking him off his game. Such a wonderful dancer!!! I bet leaders love getting her in comps.
