I remember the Oceana hotel being the hotel to visit back in the days. This is great to see Downtown Kingston on the up again. It's one of my favourite places in Jamaica. I know most people wouldn't understand. But the vibes downtown is just second to none. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
That hotel was built in the late sixties, seventies, so it is not that old and iconic. The iconic hotels in Jamaica would be the Pegasus, Four Seasons and the Altamont. The building looks really nice. The area closer to the sea desperately needs to be rehabilitated. The place looks so damn chaka chaka and filthy. I cannot imagine anyone would take their hard earned money to buy property in that area. Those older historical buildings downtown on Habour Street, King Street, Duke Street desperately need to be rehabilitated, and that should be a priority for the government, as the so called Jamaican investors don't seem to see the opportunity downtown.
Thanks so much for your comment. Iconic means different things to most of us and I am still romantacizing the downtown where I experienced such joy in the 80s and 90s. The Digicel building was the first big move to usher in the redevelopment of the waterfront and it's a good look. The Grace Kennedy project, Kingston Creatives and the other initiatives are breathing life back to the Waterfront. Join us September 2-5 as we Lyme and bring back the joy of Kingston as the place to be.
My girl by the way you describe what you was doing it sound good but the videography was bad, real bad. For something that sound so good you have to get better with the filming of the video. Walk good.
