You wouldn't believe the nasty state of the original records I cleaned. About 200 of em given to me. All had been wet only a few sleeves I could save. They had weird plants growing up through them, mold mildew, stains. Used dish soap, and several microfiber cloths. Took me n the kids 3 months to clean em all.. saved some Dean Martin, Sam Cooke, Frankie n the 4 seasons, Herb Albert, Connie Francis, Elvis, etc... had I known about the wd 40, I'd have done that too! They all play great! Gonna try the wd on a Marty Robbins single that's itchy and scratchy looks like a drink was solved on it 40 yrs ago. Ty for the idea.
The ideas are sound enough, I clean records by washing them, I use a cheap washing up liquid but I'd never use a scrubbing brush, I have a toothbrush for stubborn stuck on bits and use it a lot more gently than shown here. I then wipe them dry with a soft fibre cloth and finally use an antistatic cleaning cloth to finish. I also don't recommend using WD40 My advice is only use Mr Tangs very harsh method on records you don't value.
Last week i found one of my dads Beatles records. Not sure what it was but it had a photo of them in white butchers type coat and they eere covered in blood and sort of little arms and dolls or something. I used Vaseline as i saw its a good replacement for wd40. Bit of a mistake as it made the record all gunky so i threw it out. My dads in a retirement home so im seeing him this weekend and ill tell him.
Has anyone done this and then listened to the same record a couple years later to find out if there were any longer-term ill effects? Also, how does it affect the stylus?
Hey mate, is it possible to share it in Flac or some HD file via drive? is these tracks really from master tapes or a vinyl transfers? I really wish Gypsy, Little Lies and Everywhere if its possible, this is my childhood band. thank you!
Amazing sir i love this song without the fanfare by mary black i think cassette is more power and warm sound ya and sharp enough and cd is very sharp & detail & clarity ya amazing video sir
OMG thanks for preservation work. Now the question is how to use AI to do that and increase our true enjoyment of the music, of every aspect of the music.
What a pointless video. You’re supposed to be demonstrating a premium cartridge on a premium turntable. So you record it with your phone mic. You absolute muppet.
