I want to buy some rims for my 89 but I have a dilemma with are better the 15 7JJ (10) OR 15 7 JJ 8 Offset ? Please let me know if you know what will be better tx.
Sick build! Which temp gauge did you go with and where are you getting the temp from? I tried one that was inline on radiator hose but it never really worked.
thanks! Its just the standard auto parts store one, I threaded it into the factory temp guage port on the intake manifold. Lost the factory gauge but I didn't trust it anyways
With the bearing kit do u have to order a sepret kit cause the case is factory 21 spline and not 23. In saying that the new 23 spline comes with the bearing for main shaft or are they all the same size
In the rear they can be, I'd recommend spending a bit more for a yukon grizzly locker as they are silent and almost unnoticable. In the front its quiet since it is only rotating when you are off road in 4wd. If you do not have selectable front hubs I would recommend a selectable locker as it will upset your steering on the road and probably clack and bang frequently.
I may have missed it in your video but do you have to worry about pinion lashing or tolerances when putting it back or does it just bolt back together?
I just became your 200th Subscriber!!! Looking forward to watching this over and over again!!! I'm about to venture out in my 85 4Runner!!! This has given me lots of ideas!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Will be putting an auto locker in my surf over the next couple days, glad I found your video. Very informative, thankyou for the upload!! Will be very useful
My neighbor bought the same one, after the second one did this in the first 10 minutes of use he came over to ask me what was going on. I picked it up to inspect it and I could barely hold it, was unplugged, I have kitchen hands.
This is the coolest first gen build I’ve seen. I’ve always wondered if someone had made a custom camper shell and here that person is. Thanks for sharing
Hahaha, theres an ave video on it. If you wrap them in a bundle of wet paper towels it will stop them from sparking and because water can only get so hot before becoming steam it heats them reliably to ~212F. Works pretty well and only takes a minute or two if you dont have a fancy bearing heater!
Love what u did with the roll-up rear window that relies on electricity to work and tailgate. Someone on yotatech says removing the glaas and mechanism eliminated about 23 pounds.
Truly a house on wheels - well designed and welding work there very well done, so many tiny areas and all just look big with all storage. 5/5 stars on creativity and execution. 😎 Very cool Build.
Parker, sitting there she’s so shiny and adventurous looking ! Makes me want to grab my girl and get some yonder …. Out there somewhere. Super sweet !!
I don’t understand how an ARB locker can be installed in the same fashion, totally different structure. ARB’s have their own case so you ditch the stock case and rebolt the ring gear to the new ARB case and have to re-setup shims, or am I wrong?
Yea exactly, just skip all the steps where I install the Spartan into the factory case. You may need to reset up shims on the carrier bearings but hopefully not, pinion shims will stay the same. It’s a bit easier (and probably more of what I was thinking when I said that) with the rear diffs where they have the backlash adjustment screws instead of shims
@@ryanegan4870 I don’t think it’s that deceptive or difficult. If you’re comfortable enough to do this much, putting a new carrier in isn’t that much more. Setting up backlash on gears is pretty easy. Probably should of elaborated more in the vidya but I’m just a dude in his garage trying to help
Of cousre you'll just walk up that ✌ Might as well be eatin a sandwich on the way up lol Your spectators there are still talkin about you and that truck 👍
