Those old Realistic's in that model aren't the worst radio for sure... I had one I liked it was a super good local talking radio and I talked a lot of skip on it too... I peaked and tuned mine ended up giving it to a guy that was getting into radios far as I know he still uses it... Sometimes less is more I have a couple Analog (dial type channel changers) Midland radios made in 1977 the old White radios they are really good I have have talked on the the AM it all over the US mainland and to Hawaii and Canada, Mexico, and many Caribbean Islands many times from here in the Ozark hills of southern Missouri and I have the matching sideband model I have talked all over the US and really all over the world on it... Both are simple Analog radios with very few knobs or switches....
Well this is completely misleading! A mic any mic WILL NOT INCREASE POWER OUTPUT PERIOD. Modulation yes, power NO! Sorry but this is a fairy dust experiment.
I set my CRT ss 6900V on 8- 8,5 watts with the kl203p . No matter what band or frequency It won’t succeed the 10watt max input (for the Rm Italy Great way to mount the amp btw 👍🏼

@ArturSentsov It works well without radials, but if the antenna was in the middle of the yard with radials it might be the best wide band antenna you can find. I have no complaints, this is a great antenna.
@@visiller They have held up good for me but I also don't do alot of hard riding to know how much they can really handle. I love the extra wide stance, you can really feel the difference when turning. As for torque specs I forget what that is, to be honest I used an impact and it's on pretty tight. I believe the hubs are suppose to be 145 ft lbs. Thanks for Watching- Joe
I had the boomerang for the last year but a few days ago it bend ( now it’s a real boomerang), i officially can’t have an antenna that is more than 5m above the roofline, hence i picked the boomerang with a pole making it reach the 5 meter limit, now i am in the market for a halve wave antenna and thought about the a99 or the tram, but it is kinda difficult to ground my antenna and i do not want antenna rfi bleeding back in my shack. Does the tram have the same bleeding as the a99? ( I’ve read the the a99 bleeds alot) and I’d rather use an aluminum antenna but the newer ones tend to break often due to thin aluminum used. Do you have any suggestions or input on my story?
@AppieBing Yeah, the boomerang is definitely a weak antenna, too bad it bent on you. I have had the Tram 1498 up for 5 years now and have not noticed any rf issues. In my opinion it's a great antenna. No complaints. I had the A99 up for a week before I took it down and went with a Maco V5000. I didn't notice any bleed over with the A99, but I didn't have it long enough to really test it 100%. I would say both the Tram 1498 and A99 are very similar, I think both would be a good choice but the Maco V5000 is the best antenna I have owned. My next antenna will be a Colossal 10K but for now I am all in on the Maco V5000.
@jimgresham5529 Mostly stock. I believe the modulation was turned up but that’s all I can remember. I sold that package a long time ago but there was no super tune done to it. It was a nice setup.
I don’t have a ham license, I just listen on the ham bands. I bought the antenna to mess around with but hoping in the near future I get my Ham so I can talk. As for reception this antenna has been great. The only thing I can compare to are the cb antennas I’ve used and the 2990 definitely picks up the ham bands better than any other antenna I’ve used. As for 160m, I’m rarely down that low but have yet to hear anything. So as of right now I can’t say much about 160 meters.
@shayeli I can’t tell if it’s any better or worse but I don’t shoot that much. I just like the look. If you are looking for better performance I recommend buying a better gun. Even though I put some money into my Taurus, at the end of the day I could have bought a nice Glock or Springfield for the price point invested. The one thing that has been mentioned to me, some people have had issue with hollow point ammo jamming, which is probably magazine related but I don’t know for sure. @Jonshome337 It's a really good antenna. If you can put it in the middle of the yard with some ground radials it would work even better but overall the antenna works great. The antenna is built like a tank. For a wide band antenna 160-6 it's hard to beat.
My question is what can I do regarding the location of the Amp. I basically have the same set up 959 & the jigsaw hump mounting but the car's computer is mounted on the hump under the dash. It plays havoc with the amp & radio. Was thinking of mounting the amp in the trunk & making up a wiring harness & locate the amps switches in the ash tray? Any thoughts?
@firecop7912 Normally I would suggest trying to ground the amp/radio but in your case you may want to try moving the amp as far away from the computer as possible. Sometimes using better coax and grounding your setup can help but if you are ok with the trunk then I'd say give it a try. Might be the best idea due to the cars computer.
Just installed the A-99 and I'm experiencing bleed over into my home radios when I crank up the Stryker to almost full wattage, and forget about it when I use the 4 Pill Fatboy....I've got that Boomerang 27a that I'm throwing up at the corner of the house as well, like you did, and I'm looking for a similar experience as well. I've got a Sirio SD Dipole too still in the box but I'll admit I'm alittle disappointed about the A99 Bleedover....Maybe a low-pass filter?......73's from West Palm Beach, FL.
@joses109 so the boomerang is a great antenna but the 4 pill might be too much for it, but cant hurt to try lol. I do want to get a SD dipole one day to test out, they look like a good antenna. As for the A99, don't use a low pass filter, try to ground the antenna and the radio and also make sure the antenna is above your roof line, that should help. Use an 8ft ground rod and some good wire and I bet your bleedover improves. Thanks for watching and commenting 73's

@khemenway3630 Spacer can fail especially if you ride hard. I suggest using threadlocker to help keep the nuts on. If your lug nuts are in good shape then you’ll probably be ok. I usually put new lug nuts on just to be safe. The main reason I bought the spacers was because I like my quads wider and I love the look. I also don’t ride hard so I’ve never had them fail. I bought one of these back in June of 2009. Mine has the blue LED numbers. It pulls in the signals really well and really clean on transmit. I hear they haven't made these for a while so I'm glad I bought one when I did.
