This is great, but with that specific audio interface and cable setup you demonstrated, the resulting signal will be dual mono, not stereo, which is likely not the result people would want from a setup like this.
hi there dj sterling. i've followed everything and can record in Audacity, only thing is cant hear the headphones when switching driver to focusrite in rekordbox settings, does this mean I have to plug headphones in soundcard rather than ddj400, and if so will cues for both channels work in the same way? Thanks
The SRS xbs are made for bass lovers like me lol , guess not for your liking, I would say they are what they say they are and these are great speakers, worth the money
I am using the exact setup you have but the audio to Twitch is either way too quiet, or clipping like a MF. I am beyond stuck and frustrated. Anyone have a solution?
PS. Thanks for the heads up regarding the headphones volume not being quite loud enough, I’ll look into a headphone amp and keep that in the bag if needed. Peace & good vibes! :)
Nice one! Honestly I’ve never been a fan of Rekordbox, I think it’s clunky and could be streamlined and improved tremendously. I started DJ’ing in 1993, I come from the underground after-hours warehouse rave scene playing records on 1200’s, using only my channel volumes to mix and a three band EQ, so at the end of the day I don’t mind simplicity. In this day and age I’ve been kind of left behind when it come to the many features of todays DJ gear and some of my DJ friends give me a hard time for it. Lol Anyway, my long time friend DJ Keoki showed up at my house one day, plugged into my sound system and blew me away with his Denon Prime Go! I love how compact and self contained it is, so I ordered one for myself! Anyway, it will be nice to finally take the time to learn some of the more modern features of this gear and take it on the road with me! Cheers!
Hey! I also have a denon prime 4 and I’ve been trying to do this with my Mac but instead use a virtual cable I download from black hole. I connected my Mac to “usb b” on the controller then try to record on audacity but nothing. After seeing your video, I absolutely need that red audio interface you have?
This is the "Harmony HCMCX9000LT Flight Glide Laptop Stand DJ Custom Case" from Amazon ($289). It's a bit heavy. But it's very high quality and will last a life time.
Depends on your preference. I find it easier to mix on a controller. Everything is well integrated and there tends to be less problems. For example, i was DJ'ing recently in Vegas and the 1 of the 2 decks ran dated firmware version. So i lost some features. Some people prefer the media player (cdj) layout. If you plan to travel with your equipment or have others use it, the Sc5k's + mixer will be advantageous. For example, they tend to be more robust than controllers- Soif 1 deck brakes, you only need to repair/replace that single component.
I've connected with a stereo trs y cable into the instrument port. At first I only got a signal on obs to one ear. In obs I changed the audio channel to mono which gave me both ears. But I don't want mono. Will the mic input or instrument input somehow give me stereo signal?
Sry, what did you plug trs into (what type of interface). Also, if you have a mono signal, you can duplicate it so that it's stereo-ish (2ch instead of mono).
