All I hear is anime fans complaining about the terrible endings and how much less quality new gen anime is while comic/cartoon fans are celebrating amazing releases like wings of fire book 7 and invincible season 2 and across the spiderverse. Also ninjago dragons rising with its gorgeous animation that is better than most anime (it’s 3d tho)
@@Jery-ej3iz Eh, I think it's mostly just about bad endings in some shows (and also about all the isekais that come out all being the fking same). However, in terms of cash, even those bad ones bring in more money every year. If the US comic industry is really getting better like you say, I would be happy about it, but I kind of worry it won't last (also, let's distinguish between cartoons and comics). A lot of the. could hitt off again massively if they stop identity politics

Also the bad animation work standard in anime industry is a major reason anime seems to be doing really good when it comes to making money. The west isn’t amazing by any standards but at least animators aren’t working themselves to death
I love noragami it's my favorite manga/anime and it's also the first manga I bought physically. I don't have the whole collection yet but I plan too and even celebrated Yato day on August 10'th. If anything I didn't forget Noragami and it'll always be my favorite since it's so great and has so much sentimental value.
When I read the first 2 issues of The Punisher Max on a free website, I stopped and found the most accessible online comic store to buy the first ten issues.. now I 'm waiting to get more physical issues instead of pirating it. 🤩

@@revolutionarydragon1123 I’ve seen that argument but that’s not why people pick up singles. More so than anything, comics are a collectors hobby. It’s why comics are more niche. A large portion of collectors don’t even read what they pick up. The intent is only to resell.

Comics are way better to me and my comicbook collection is far more extensive than manga. Reasons?: 1. Coloring. Manga being in black and white feels cheap and it is cheap. 2. Story. Comics tend to have way more inspiring or thought provoking stories. Manga is too drawn out and the stories are just silly (I’ve never re-evaluated life based on a manga I read. Read Superman though or many JL stories and you’ll see what I mean). 3. Characters. People complain all the time about comic book characters dying and reviving, but Manga characters NEVER die. Even when they do die they come back through some BS way. Naruto should have died so many times! He’s an idiot and his whole body was destroyed when he turned into the 9 tailed fox. Somehow he pulled a Hulk and just healed himself? 4. Legacy. Superman having been around since 1939 and influencing people and culture is huge. I can tell people that “I feel like Superman” or “I feel like Iron Man” and they get it. If I tell someone “I feel like Naruto.” They have no idea what I am talking about. Manga just feels more playful. Comics feel serious with more weighted outcomes.
@@sokool657 I’ll reply to each of your points 1. Manga is B&W is more so for the sake of time. Most manga are weekly and they often barely make deadlines as it is. Comics are almost entirely monthly, with a similar page count, if not even less. 2. This is entirely subjective but saying manga are drawn out and comics aren’t is pretty funny. Comics have the most drawn out narratives of any medium. 3. This is just a silly argument to me. Comic book deaths have been contrived since Superman died to Doomsday. It’s accepted now because of how often it is but there are absolutely no stakes in comics anymore. You also mentioned Naruto when obviously having no idea what you’re talking about. His healing ability with 9 tails chakra is well established and explained in the series many times. 4. I could see your point if your argument was better. The main mark against your argument is the implication that manga doesn’t have this same effect. The Legacy of Jojo’s, One Piece, Dragonball, and Naruto surpass the influence of the vast majority of comic book characters, rivaling the likes of Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. The main issue with your arguments is that you spend too much time trying to dismiss the entire medium of manga despite being largely ignorant towards it.

Again, because it’s black and white and the plots are less refined they can afford to be weekly. The magnitude of work isn’t even in the same ballpark as a comic when you look at coloring, lettering, penciling, etc. Manga are made to be cheap to allow stories to be pumped out weekly and as such every manga plot is basically the same. (Kid gets abilities, powers up, takes on bad guy). 2. I would like an example since every comic has a definitive end to each arc. Most arcs are 6 issues long and are mostly independent of one another. 3. You missed my point here. In comics, characters are revived all the time but in manga they often don’t even die in the first place. I compare Naruto to the Hulk because despite both of their bodies being abnormally changed when moving to a new form they manage to live. It’s the same level of ridiculousness, but Manga takes it to another level. Ichigo never dies, only his powers are removed. Luffy never dies. Gon and Killua never die. Goku dies but can literally come back from the afterlife at the whims of the kais, dragonballs, and Beerus’s desire. There are very few manga where death actually means anything and is significant. Superman died and returned but his death inspired the creation of new heroes, altered the entire DC universe, and had several implications in future stories (Blackest Night and more). I won’t break down the impacts of every death in comics but it’s better than watching Midoriya get wrecked for the 15th time and somehow finding a new deus ex as to how he is healed and can keep fighting. 4. It’s cute that you think Jojo’s rivals Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man (LoL) but you’re flat out wrong. Step into any department store (not specialist stores in the mall like Hot Topic or BoxedLunch which cater to anime) and you’re bound to see Batman or Spider-Man related merch. Not likely to see anything anime related. The argument isn’t even flawed. Every great grandmama in the world knows who Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman are. There’s literal data that supports this. Manga, despite having better sales because of the younger generation’s interest, is way less known. I read manga and watch anime (been doing so for years); I’m not ignorant at all towards it. American comics are, for the most part, way more mature, have more impactful stories, a more respected legacy, and are way more work to create than manga (look at the number of workers on any comic). But I get it, you’d rather dismiss a valid argument as irrelevant because you prefer reading about underage girls in fiction yelling “onii-chan” while getting molested with tentacles. To each their own.

I discovered Noragami through TikTok like half a year ago. There was a video with the best anime opening songs compilation or smth. I really liked the op and the characters shown there, so I've put it on my to-watch list. And here we are after 6 months I watched both seasons, all 4 ova's in 2 days, and I literally fell in love with this story! Now I'm reading the manga as well. But since the last chapters of the manga came out this year and finally the story is complete, I rly have a good feeling abt 3rd season for the anime. I feel like it would be a perfect time and I actually see and know many people on the internet and in rl that loved Noragami. It is not forgotten by any means! It just went quiet. But the fandom is here still waiting. So am I now as well.

Got into anime in 2022...just finished HXH...I had to check this bug three...didnt click on Naruto (kubo and kishi are friends so i dont hate on it) saw v 5 mins of bleach and turned it off.BIG.MISTAK3(Mystery men joke) Op and black clover were my fav...so i saw a "all forms of ichigo and OH..that cool....once i sw3 Vasto lorde..i swear to god RANN into my room and ever since sep 2022 bleach hasnt left me ...this is piece of mastery.
just binge read the entire manga in about a day and a half- I watched the anime a long time ago and recently saw a reel somewhere about it and decided to give it a read. this manga had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and i absolutely adored the plot, seeing the characters grow and change was very engaging. noragami is the first manga I've actually read from beginning to end, and now I'm feeling a lot of nostalgia. i enjoyed the ending, even though i felt that there were a couple loose ends in terms of the ending. i thought that it was kinda missing some points that could've been fleshed out more to give a more fulfilling ending- but i still think the author did an amazing job at closing such a rich and fantastic story. I really hope we'll get a season 3 some day, i really admire studio bones creations. noragami deserves more attention than it got, definitely solidified itself as one of my favorites of all time. always gonna have a soft spot for the trio 😭
Kubo art style had that inoue progression. I haven't read it so I don't know if inoue was quicker in developing,like kubo because within 70 chapters of bleach kubo went from odd features to esticithicly better
Editor of bleach is the one. Fullbring arc is my favorite arc. Soul society is good. But fullbring is kubo flexed and said "look,i can write thriller,wars,battle and charactors and a battle system that is complex while being simple " what ua gonna do!

Respect to you for this. I'm slightly obsessive about keeping up with my top 10 Shonen list, and my picks definitely run some people the wrong way. You know what you like and you recognize that these lists are subjective.
I think that it’s better in most technical aspects. The art can’t really compare to Inoue’s and I don’t care about the cast nearly as much. They are super close though

Does a list exist, of all the shonen manga you read? Nowadays it's difficult to categorize manga just as shonen. A lot of them have strong Seinen tendencies, I would say that AoT, Chainsaw Man, Slam Dunk and Firepunch are as much Seinen as they are Shonen. @@WalkingTheShelf what arcs were "garbage " In your opinion... Because to me even the worst arc in op that is fishman had very important plot point setups with the weapons and shirahoshi. So id like to hear your opinion, since idt bleach does arcs any better than op... It's very curious since op is usually accepted as the best shonen manga out there .
@@Koatjon I mean thriller bark is one of the worst Shonen arcs I’ve ever read. I would’ve 100% dropped one piece if I wasn’t already looking forward to other story arcs (like marineford). Skypiea is another arc that I dislike a lot and nearly dropped the series because of it. I think that’s mostly because one piece’s repetitive formula had really started to wear me down rather than the arc being a dumpster fire. I mean it’s only accepted as the best by its hardcore fans, Naruto and bleach fans would say the same thing when referring to their own series. One piece only really has that reputation because it’s the most popular shonen manga ever made.

Skypiea is not a bad arc at all, nolands story was great, and it holds weight moving forward, and it isn't even that far in the story for you to find it "repetitive ", nun really major even happens till skypeia, as for thriller bark, anime I would understand if you said it was that trash of an arc, but manga with ryuuma being foreshadowed, and kumas appearance , the nothing happened moment , it's still aight. Your opinion would have been respectable but you have bleach at 3 😭🙏

Your top 3 is in my top 10 anime/manga of all time so honestly I like this list lmao. Not a big JJK guy though for some reason even though I love Bleach, but I think there’s still parts of it that I do get hyped for. A friend of mine has been telling me to get on Noragami tho so I really might have to check it out. I love pretty much everything else on the list except I haven’t checked out Magi yet either. One manga that I’ve seen a lot of people bring up and would definitely be on my top 10 shonen is Sakamoto Days. I’m reading the volumes as they come out in English so I’m behind, and I don’t even think the story is necessarily anything revolutionary, but it just exudes so much personality and I fly through every volume as soon as I get them. Genuinely some of the coolest stuff you will find in manga and the characters are great too. The paneling is also something I’ve only seen rivaled by Inoue with Slam Dunk
