The real killer is the person seated in seat CC 241, barely perceptible for a millisecond in the entire film but played by an uncredited Mel Gibson.

What finally pushes Harnett's character over the edge is finding out that his daughter is being played by an actor 10 years older than her purported age and he is the only person who was too dimwitted to perceive this obvious fact.
