Hi and welcome to the Animation Station! I have loved animation since I was a young kid and recently have decided to pursue it more on my own time as a hobby. I really hope you like and enjoy my content as I work on becoming a better animator!
@@Neptune.Imagine they don't need to be perfect but the overall motion needs to make sense. Remember, we are just drawing a bunch of pictures and it only becomes animation when you combine them all together. More drawings will slow the motion down, less frames will speed the animation up. Hope tha helps.
@@RomanKridd_Official I don't fully understand, what do you mean "behind scene?" Adobe animate is very different. It also comes with a monthly subscription fee.
Wait can you animate multiple frames with the mask?? Ive tried to do it but it just ISNT working 😭😭 (I’ve got one- but when i go to do another the masks i make just merge into eachover 😔)
@@pascers1543 I do one example in this upcoming video. Ill make a video specifically for your question. Its a good one! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7iVinAkDsdU.htmlsi=4se3qhPnZKxKL-tQ
Thank you so much I've been animating frame by frame this whole time I had no idea this was a thing! Wasn't quite what I was looking for but it was definitely worth my time!
I'm a true believer that you can use any software that you think is best. Creating animation just takes time and dedication. The big difference is that Adobe Animate has a subscription fee, but I used to use the old Adobe CS3 software a long time ago and it was great. If you decide to use Krita make sure to watch my video on how to set up Krita for animation, it will be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IzQ6jkENxNw.htmlsi=tSqNV1ehKsCu5s1f
Thank you for this piece, I am a newbie to animation and I have picked Krita because of this video. I hope you do more basic tutorials on Krita and run through to advance.
I love it because I do all my animations one scene at a time. It works great for longer ones as well you just have to have a good computer. I recommend 16-32Gigs of Ram min. See my video for setting Krita up for animation and you should be fine. How to set up Krita for animation ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IzQ6jkENxNw.html
@@animationstationm sorry nvm, it turns out that when you use an older version of krita, it doesn't support the "animation curve" aspect (I'm using 4.4). Im too scared to update krita cause i dont want to lose my progress lmao, but thanks for the vid anyway!
1920 by 1080, custom. I'm pretty sure he set up is it's in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IzQ6jkENxNw.htmlsi=2D7vvb16KfpFMgkS
Sounds like more of a computer issue. My computer uses 32Gigs DDR4 ram. You need something more powerful and you also need to change your Krita settings. See this video for animation set up. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IzQ6jkENxNw.html I would say your computer needs a minimum of 8gig of Ram DDR4 or 5. DDR3 will work as well. Min CPU for Krita is a Intel core 2 and 4gigs of ram but this is only if you are creating Art. I find my Krita didn't work well for animation until I upgraded my ram and cpu. I think the issue may be with the computer or the settings. Watch the video in the link above and mimic those settings for best performance.
If I'm understanding corrently, I need to make a colorize mask, convert it back to paint layer then add another colorize mask to repeat the process? Not to mention I'll need to be careful to add the frames in the desired spots before merging them. There must be a quicker way to use the masking method, can't it be used in the timeline? Plus there are quicker methods with the bucket tool it's just that they don't let you fill in for its own layer.
Yup. I have a video coming this weekend (hopefully, if I can finish it in time) I will show you how to implement the colourized mask in a animation situation so more understand how I use it on a grand scale.
and I'm always astonished how many people want quicker ways to create animation. "Animation takes time and effort, if we are not willing to work at it then why are we doing it?" (Richard Williams)
Definitely want to see episode 2. 👀 Man, you did great. Hands were good, & you still conveyed that rough & manly feel through out for all the characters. Voices were great too; that was awesome. Did you voice them all yourself or have some help?
Good video. I'm commenting here because I find it hard to find resources about tweening or using curves in general on this software. I like working with curves but I'm finding Krita's kind of unwieldy. Trying to animate specific properties, it doesn't seem there's a way yet to create a curve keyframe for one or a few specific properties. But most importantly, which is linked to the above... any way to reset all transformation on a transform mask at any frame? I guess that's all I need. Maybe there's some nice long discussions on some forums about this topic, but I wouldn't mind discussing it here either.
Good question. I'm not sure entirely but there is a way to curve a tween. I will do a video on it in the future. The best way to get the information is from the Krita instruction manual. Found at this link, you may have to do some digging though. docs.krita.org/en/tutorials/clipping_masks_and_alpha_inheritance.html
@@animationstationm I think I've gotten the hang of it after some experimentation. The answer to the question about keyframing specific properties is irrelevant because you don't have any real need to do that; if I'm not animating a property, it doesn't matter if it's being keyframed because all of its keyframes will be the same. About resetting transformations, all properties except scale start with a value of 0. Scales start at 1.
I often ask myself why people such as that guy, being so good doing their work, are pretty lame at getting the audience... Im not trying to get you down bro, but as a viewer idk what to expect by seeing your thumbnail and tittle. I just want you to grow don't get upset because of that comment, do your work cause it is amazing. Have a amazing day
look up thumbnails on the topic, that you want to make your video. Use grabbing atention colors, maybe watch the video from ISSAC called "How I Actually Make Viral Thumbnails". Im waiting for your next video ; )@@animationstationm
Pretty cool man that's why I switched to digital dude that's how I was originally going to do my stuff I was going to drown and then scan him into the computer and then coloring them with a software then I said screw that I'm just glad I learned it took me like 20 drawings to make a walk cycle with paper incredible you can just draw the character piece by piece
Very true! I actually have a very nice traditional short film coming soon. It's high quality. I drew a sketch and final drawing for every frame. It still needs quite a bit before it's finished but I can't wait to share it with you all soon!
Hey man I got the free editing software on my computer that I just found out about like a week ago I've been watching your videos can't you do the same thing in krita when you render the animation sequence is that the same thing you're doing in this video
Not exactly. I render the scene from Krita then transfer it to a video editing software for two main reasons. 1. Krita has no Camera and using video editing software I like to move the camera around every once in a while. It's also good for adding effects. for example, adding a shaking effect after an explosion. 2. Krita only allows one audio file which would never work for me because I use multiple audio files when animating. This would only work if all your audio was pre recorded and as you can see, we are adding the audio at the end.
Yo just want to say thanks again man I was trying for the longest time how to make another scene man I got dragon framer software and one of them Canon camera making another scene in dragonframe was so flipping easy you just got to take another picture I was about to just do it Old School
