FoundryVTT tutorials, DnD tips & tricks, TTRPG let's plays, and daily DnD memes! If you like talking about DnD/TTRPGs, thinking about the indutry, learning to use FoundryVTT, and laughing, then this is the channel for you! Welcome!
I'm kind of shocked that your channel is the only one I can find covering pretty much exactly what I need. Quickly and concisely too. Good work man, figured I should sub after googling like 15 thing and ending up watching your vids each time!
Hey, Fondue. Thank you for putting together this guide. The Forien’s Copy Environment module was particularly handy. I used your guide to update from version 11 to 12. Very handy.
Hey im new to foundry vtt and love your vid's but my group plays face 2 face with mini's and like to roll with real dice. can you tell me (or make a vid) what mods can be great for f2f play?
@@Katorade so you need to make sure that the grid size for the tab is set to 1 x 1 and then it will cover the whole screen. I think I cover that in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TyneLIsc9xY.html
We moved our game online to Foundry earlier this year, and I only got around to using three modules: The D&D Beyond importer, the VTT map importer, and the LiveKit AVClient. We've used D&D Beyond since the start of our 5e game, so we keep it as the source of character data. The VTT map importer lets us use 3rd-party map software like Dungeondraft. The built-in AV for Foundry hardly worked at all, and we were about to give up on Foundry entirely until I found out about the LiveKit module. Looking forward to using Dice So NIce and GM screen-
Honestly just installed several of these based on your video, Foundry is nice and people like you make it even nicer because yea the module browser sucks
hey its almost as if you knew people didnt mean that form of it and you knew it and took advantage of those people and wasted their time, thanks for that
Honestly Foundry wins out for me for several reasons, no monthly cost as I can self host or just use an Oracle server, TONS of mods thanks to it being open source for moders means it gets every bell and whistle I could ever ask for including those I didn’t even know I wanted till I saw them.
@@DiceAndEasy Yeah harsh learning curve (especially since I first learned to self host then eventually set up an Oracle server to avoid monthly fees all while having 0 coding knowledge) but after I got over that saving monthly costs from roll20 + having so much more I can do is worth it.
Excelent video, question, Is It able in a dark region show some light? I mean i would like to create a path of lights in a dark area and only able to see for one player, to guide to the rest thought the path correct. And the rest of the party see nothing
I haven’t played with it, but he mentions magical darkness is different. That should mean it’s applying darkness the same way as before, meaning that now light sources are required for characters to see without special vision, ie darkvision. So yes. I believe they should behave normally. I think this allows you to make internal rooms with no windows require light.
@@trofim9059the main one I’m hyped about is the ability for walls to put a filter on sounds that pass through them rather than block the sound entirely. Think hearing the muffled sounds from inside a tavern through the doors before you open them. I feel like that’ll add a lot of extra ambiance and flavor to my scenes. And nice one :P
I honestly think the Teleport behavior Very complicated tô do I used to use stairways but the module os not supported anymore Do you have any suggestion on that?
@@brenobaiardi3497 I’ve also used Stairways and it’s a great module. Stairways is supported still and it supports v12! You can see that here: foundryvtt.com/packages/stairways
Best VTT is foundry. Not only is it better than its direct competitors (Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds) it can also literally simulate all the others with no issue. And if you know some coding, you can literally make a mod to have it do anything you want. And it’s a one time purchase and you can host it directly from your pc if you want. Like I can understand your points with owl bear rodeo and alchemy, you can literally run foundry VTT the same exact way. So why settle for an inferior product?
Hey man, thanks alot for this video. I'm not sure if you're still answering comments, but I'll shoot my shot anyways. As of the stuff that's been happening lately, if D&D beyond would be updating all their spells and stuff to the new 2024 ruleset, if I would to import all the 2014 rules before it update would it remain that way or would it be updated too? Because If I have to Import it manually each time, it genuinely saves my whole campaign lol.
@@mathieuroy9351 I haven’t used this module in a long time but if I remember it right, updating your characters is always done manually. If not, you could always import your characters and then deactivate the module so it can’t auto update.
Finally some updated modules! Thank you!! edit: 3:18 you can also create a shared compendium between your worlds as long as they share the same game system! Its way more convenient to just drag and drop whatever you want to transfer into the compendium and its folders to use in different games! (Just to keep your information forever and saving you time in the future, you only havw to build all this stuff once! Yay!)
The way that you present these videos is so clear and contains all the useful info I was looking for - thank you for helping a new GM navigate her way to running better games.
Thanks dude, really handy. I feel like Ttrpgs can help with maps and player positioning but wouldn’t want to take away the storytelling and theatre elements from DMs with animation and video clips.
Are you absolutely sure that this is only an issue with v12, because I remember seeing (when this issue came up) that this was a longer running issue that might also destroy worlds under certain circumstances on other versions of Foundry. Something with Druids and Wildshape?
I've been on Foundry long enough to know it's worth checking placing like this (+general websearch) to see if there's issues. Solid advice.

Thanks for the Headsup - SWIM for Savage Worlds also uses Warpgate and I have actually used it on 12 - lucky it didn't corrupt my worlld - but i disabled it for now
