I was diagnosed w AML (w Flt3) wks after receiving my 2nd COVid shot. From the moment I received the shot to when I was diagnosed I felt throughout that time, worse and worse. My question was “ is there any possible way the Covid shot created the blasts (90%) which gave me the diagnosis of AML. In other words, was there a chemical chance the shot could have created my blasts. Only one doctor was willing to say that yes there was that possibility. The rest were evasive even when I went for a 2nd opinion at a prestigious local research Hospital. (OHSU, Portland, OR). I am currently in remission and have tried to research my own answer. Whether or not to seek further treatment is at question. My intuitions and limited ability to do medical research tell me yes, there is a possibility of this. I was also on a blood thinner at the time as well as a BP med. I received such resistance from the Medical Community as to an answer to my question, “could my 2nd COVid shot have created the conditions for a diagnosis of AML?” that I’m placing this in a reply so it can be easily taken out. Otherwise I’d love to be able to communicate w others who have perhaps experienced something similar. Thanks so much for your information. I hope these wonderfully elucidation videos keep coming. Thanks again.

Please guide me how to enumber platelets by blood smear method as my lab workers say me to look for place on film where rbcs have just started to separate and half the population is overlapping half and half cells are just touching the boundry and make average of 10 field, consider 1 platelet for 10,000 count and if the average in of 7 platelets the count will become 70'000 but on google its different they give formula.

When I was learning - a long time ago - the lymphs you describe in your video were called atypical lymphs and were characteristic of infectious mononucleosis. Although they were sometimes found in other conditions. Reactive lymphocytes had deeply basophilic cytoplasm and were found in other viral infections and IM. Nice pics!

HIHI hema Ed I found this channel is useful for me to understand about blast cell. It's really hard to me to identify the abnormal cell in blood film. Sometimes I took a picture of the cell type and it's hard to find someone to ask for. Could you suggest me who can I ask for those question by email? Thank you so much

Myeloblast and lymphoblast is not that hard. The hardest is to categorize monoblast vs promonocytes VS immature monocytes

How do u difference the promielocyte from a basophil? I kind of look similar to me.
@HemeEd
@HemeEd Год назад
Initially they look similar but a promyelocyte will be bigger and usually you can see the nucleus with possibly a nucleoli. The granules in a basophil will be bigger and tend to obscure the nucleus. Hope that helps.
@dorianmichelarmenterossanc668
How do u difference them from other cells specially bast?
@HemeEd
@HemeEd Год назад
The monocyte will tend to have a nucleus that isn't a standard shape. Also, the nucleus will be more mature looking which is how you can differentiate them from blast cells. I think this needs a video to explain. Stay tuned.
@dorianmichelarmenterossanc668
@@HemeEd yes the biggest problem are the more undifferentiated cells.

Interesting. I'm studying HTLV-1 infected T lymphocytes that can lead to Adult T Cell Leukaemia/lymphoma. In such instances, you get clonal expansion of the T lymphocytes.
@HemeEd
@HemeEd Год назад
In reality, leukemias tend to be clonal just based on their nature. They are progenitor cells or lymphocytes (cells that can still go through mitosis) that run amuck. T-cell lymphomas/leukemias tend to look very "interesting" (read scary) at the microscope. They always have a bizarre appearance about them.
